I actually thought that King Dorephan for whatever reason didn't have legs but that he had a fin like a mermaid that he was sitting on. So Sidon is going to lose his legs over time and he's gonna have a snake like body eventually. I'm sorry but by the time I realized I was into writing the sixth chapter...anyways this is just after Zelda asked Link if she was remembered by him at the end of the game. Also Link is Irish.
Days had come and gone since Link reunited with Zelda. As soon as she mentioned going to Zoras Domain his ears perked for a change. His silence continued for days until they found themselves in a new inn on their way to the domain. Upon this night, Link paid for their own room lit by an oil lamp.
He would always remember seeing Zelda so enthusiastically putting on her nightgown. Brushing her hair and singing looked so natural on the princess. As if they weren't going to go out and risk their necks at Vah Rutah in the coming week.
Zelda brushed her hair as she looked in the mirror. Link sat on his separate bed overlooking her reflection from behind her. Each time he made eye contact, he glanced to the floor and blushed. Until finally he asked himself...
Maybe now that this is over... I may speak...
"I never did answer your question..." He said. The sound of Link's voice made Zelda drop her brush before looking directly at him. "I did remember you..." Link admitted. "You weren't too terribly kind to me." He recalled. "You wouldn't let me do my job, you were judgy and cold...and I just took it. Because that's what I do..." Link uttered looking at the floor. A pause of silence echoed as Zelda went red. Link stood up. "I don't think after we're done at the domain that we'll see each other so much anymore. Cause I'm not the man you pushed around. A hundred years of meditation goes a long way..."
With that he stood, and walked out into the inn where others were drinking and singing. Link joined in on the fun, because they sang of the end of the calamity. How could he refuse that drink and shanty? After all that turmoil, he and the princess needed it.
Which was why in a hour she too drank with them, no longer wearing her nightgown anymore. She just wore a simple dress she found in her castle and braided her hair.
Upon some drinks and empty bottles later. Zelda had laid her head on Link's chest and sobbed. "I was a real something was I not? To push your words to be so brutally honest to me and all..." she said this with a saddened croaking voice. Link pet her hair awkwardly. "It ain't a thing but we both have regrets now eh?" He soothed. However Zelda fell quiet. Later when she woke thirty seconds later she simply kissed Link. "I want to make this better my knight!" Zelda begged. Link was now gushing red. But regardless followed Zelda to the bedroom. Had Hylia been watching, the two would beg forgiveness. The following day, the two arrived at Zoras Domain.
Dorephan was tall around the height of two to three score feet. So Links awkward mildly short and slight thickness from muscle was petite and thin in the presence of the giant King. Link entered and knelt before him as Zelda watched and curtseyed as well, although Dorephan had hardly recalled her by voice nor appearance in itself. "Your majesty, have you heard that Ganon had met his end by the blade of my sword and the light of Princess Zelda's arrow?" The King's eyes widened. "What news! Is it she by your side?" He asked. "I recalled her last seen in blue dress and crown last we met!" He said. "How rude of me princess, to speak of thou as if not in the very room! I must congratulate you of course but first I ask why you brought yourself here instead of to the shieka to rebuild your castle?" He asked her. She rose to a straightened back. "The slate for told the divine beast has been acting up...has anyone noticed anything?"
"Not that I recall, what all with me bound to my throne and what not. Link, won't thou fetch our Prince? He should be gazing upon Mipha's statue during this minute," Dorephan explained. Link nodded and patrolled to the statue. Only to catch the familiar, albeit not exactly friendly, gaze of Muzu. He only nodded at his direction, as the old man scowled. Upon arriving at the statue however Link discovered the Zora Prince Sidon, gawking at the beauty of his lost sister. Link placed a hand on Sidon's arm as their eyes didn't meet. Regardless, Sidon spoke. "Was my sister really so beautiful in life, Link?" He asked.
"Aye she was, not that tall however..." Link uttered as he examined Sidon's face. It remained still before contorting into a stunned expression. "You spoke!" He realised. Link laughed heartily as Sidon's own laugh had been. "And you bear the accent of North Eastern Termina?" He asked. To any of us, we would simply say Link had an Irish accent, as these tales of Hyrule base themselves off of Irish and Scottish folk lore. "Aye!" Link chirped. "I bore meself me own curse not to speak till I recalled all memories lest my true identity conflict me mind. After recalling everything that I'd been through, I told Zelda I was to no longer be her knight, and I wish to help ye with Divine Beast Vah Rutah," he explained.
"Then you know its been restless since the calamities end?" Sidon asked as he slowly went up the stairs. Link followed behind his lead and nodded. "Aye, but I'm afraid I need know the more detail your highness," Link added. Sidon pointed to the mountain top to show where Vah Rutah once stood now flopped laying dead as if never intended to move. "It completed its mission had it not? Perhaps that's how it was meant to be?" Sidon asked thinking allowed. "I can only hope that Mipha had passed on and left the beast hunched away to rot. She wished nothing more then to see the way you've grown or how your father is today," Link explained. "Because she knew the tradition," Sidon said, but Link did not know what he intended. The two arrived to see Dorephan awaiting the rest of the meeting party.
Sidon saw Zelda after many years and could remember easier then his own father could have. He bowed towards her direction far lower than a monarch should do to another. He bowed like a gypsy at her direction, a sign of her having higher importance which couldn't be farther from the truth. However his etiquette to a fellow monarch was off a bit given he never left the Domain, or at least not far enough to reach a new kingdom. Regardless Zelda allowed him to kiss her hand. She curtseyed fairly low in return in a subtle means of acknowledging humility. Sidon no longer was embarrassed by his low ranked gesture. Years ago she never would even dip the slightest towards even the likes of Mipha.
"Ahem!" Coughed Dorephan. The two turned towards him. "Father I apologize I was gone for so long admiring Mipha's statue again, I lost my thoughts at its gaze," he explained. Dorephan shrugged and nodded. "I understand that, and judging by the talkative nature between you and Sir Link I presume you know the Calamity has passed. Meaning we can both explain to our Hylian guests the meaning of the situation with the divine beast," Sidon hid the urge to swallow down heavy amounts of saliva as he knew it would be audible. But he could almost feel the way his gills gurgled softly out of pure nerve wrecked fret. "The divine beast needs a new guardian, which is to be me, but I have to grant the dying wishes of the last Guardian to achieve my worth," Sidon told them. "While it does not apply to Hylian tradition, in Zora tradition if the elder sibling dies and the younger is unwed, he or she shall be betrothed to the previous siblings spouse or fiancée," Sidon added.
Zelda turned pale.
"Link, as you know that is..."
Link blushed.
"You,"
