To Impa,

I didn't want to do this. I need to. I have no choice. For a moment I figured the war was done. But I have reason to believe that even if Bludo is dead, we may never experience the end. His successor has killed him. Take that secret to your grave unless you feel it necessary to share. Unfortunately for me, I require you to please take longer care of my son. I don't doubt for a moment that your better judgement shall be a better way of raising him should something happen.

A million thank you's and best wishes,
Link

Dear Link,

I would be honoured to watch over your son. Arthur has been a joy to look af-

"Arthur no!" Paya called from her room. A bowl spilled as Impa sighed.

-ter albeit quite a handful at once. He takes on after his mother's stubbornness but he earned his sweet nature out of you. He will be safe with us. That is a promise.

Regards,
Impa

Link carefully folded the paper and placed it into his pocket. It was wise of Impa to not discuss the Gorons lest someone found the letter. Being Zelda's mentor once upon a time, it seemed right that Arthur was under her wing. Perhaps it may even better him that way... Link shook his head. He's my son. I am not to give him up just like that. With that he patted his pocket and gently tapped his horse to move up the hill. Alone.

Brown soot, a dirt path, slow enemies, flightless birds, warm climate, blue sky decorated in black fog. A single noble heading up a winding path. Goron city. Metal bridges, caves for shops and homes. Lava pooling every which way, and a stubborn horse unable to take the heat. Link fed him a carrot and sent him down the hill as he stood in his newfound clothing. Thin robes of the Zora cloaking him. It was his opal circlet and two earings dangling down his long ears. His hair was braided. His shirt was a blue one draping down in coat tails to his knees. He wore white Hylian trousers.

The smell of burning brimstone was even more prominent here. And to add to it, unlike yesterday the streets were more full. All Goron were standing like an audience watching one thing, Yunobo at the front. He was reading from Bludo's will. Then his speech about how thrilled he was to have leadership. Link, not wanting to be rude listened in for the time being and kept himself on the down low.

"Today is a day I didn't expect so suddenly..." Yunobo said shakily. His knees clacking together. "I just... I didn't want this so soon and...haha..." He stuttered. How could a man so innocent turn into a murderer? Link asked himself. He shook his head and kept listening. "It will be an honor to have you working for me. Although I'd like to see this more as me working for all of you...s-so...ah-!" His scroll fluttered away in the wind like a scared dove trying to escape a bear. "I guess you guys get the idea, Goro."
Some smiles showed up and applause was given. Link saw the tenseness in Yunobo ease up a touch. He smiled and put his fist up and the crowd went more enthusiastic. So Link cheered for his friend as if nothing were wrong.

Then the crowd disbanded and Link walked more closely towards Yunobo. Finally, when he received the attention his friend gave him a big Goron hug. "Little bro! I didn't expect you, Goro!" He chirped. Link coughed a bit. "Careful with m-me!" Link gasped while grinning. "I know you missed seeing me on good terms but I haven't felt well lately you know?" He explained.
The hug was gentler now but he was still held too long. As if Yunobo were distracted before letting Link go. "It's great to see you again. You look amazing!" Yunobo exclaimed. Link caught himself smiling. "So looks like your the next big boss huh?" Link asked punching Yunobo's arm. "Looks like it. I wish it weren't true but it'll happen. Hey maybe it'll be better then our last boss." Yunobo thought aloud. Link went quiet. "Too soon?" Yunobo asked. Link shook his head. "Ah, it's fine! I get it you know? He needed to step down by now. Is Bludo home sick?" Link asked this so painfully. He knew what the answer was. But needed Yunobo to let his guard down again.
