10. Fourth Of July pt.2

I was sitting on the couch with Dylan and his friends.

"How are things with that boy you like?" Monica asked.

"Oh. We're dating" I smiled as Dylan choked on air.

"WHAT?" He asked and I laughed at him.

"Yeah, he's gonna be there tonight but so will his mom so we can't act like we're dating" I explained.

"We have to meet him!" Julissa yelled as Dylan nodded vigorously.

"Should we scare him?" Tyler asked.

"No! He's very fragile" I laughed.

"What's his name again?" Abraham asked.

"Eddie"

"You better hope I like him" Dylan said, wrapping his arm around Hilarry.

"You will, he's really nice" I smiled.

I walked through the park, looking for my friends. My brother and his friends were following close behind, making me roll my eyes.

"No offense but would you guys get off my ass?" I groaned as they laughed at me.

"No! We have to meet him! We need to meet your other friends too" Abraham said and I rolled my eyes once again.

"Jocelyn!" I heard Bev yell as she ran towards me, giving me a hug.

"Hey Bev! Are the others here yet?" I asked.

"Eddie isn't but everyone else is" She said. She began to say hi to my brother and his friends seeing as she had already met them before. She grabbed my hand and dragged me to where our friends were sitting.

I arrived and said hello to my friends. Dylan cleared his throat and gestured to himself and the others. "Oh, this is my dumb brother and his dumb friends" I sighed.

"We have names y'know?" Hilarry laughed.

"That's my brother Dylan and his girlfriend Hilarry. That's Monica, Tyler, Julissa and Abraham. They're dating" I explained.

"Yeah and if you have any hot older brothers tell them to call me" Monica laughed.

"Or sisters" Tyler added.

"I don't have any brothers but you can call me in 5 years" Richie said, doing finger guns at Monica.

"Where's Eddie?" I asked, changing the subject.

"Calm down, wheezy should be getting here soon" Richie answered.

"Don't call him that!" I defended.

"Aww Jocelyns getting protective of her boyfriend" Richie teased.

"Richie!" Bev warned, gesturing towards my brother.

"Oh, we know. That's why we're here, we wanna meet him" Dylan explained as Beverly sighed in relief.

"Pfft! Eddies gonna freak when he meets you!" Stan laughed.

"He's p-probably going to h-have an asthma at-attack" Bill laughed.

"See! I told you!" I yelled, pointing at Dylan.

"Bless his soul" Ben laughed.

"There he is!" Mike pointed somewhere and we all turned our heads.

He was walking with his mom, she was wiping his face with something and he pushed her hand away. He seemed to be whining about something and we stifled a laugh at him. She walked over to what I assume to be her friends and he saw me. I waved him over and he began to run towards me.

"Eds I-" He put a finger up to keep me from talking, he pulled out his inhaler and took a deep breath. I laughed at him and waited for him to finish. "Better?"

"Better" He nodded.

I was about to warn him about my brother but I was pushed out of the way. "Hi, im Dylan. I heard you're dating my sister" He said, making Eddie's eyes widen.

"Really? Y-you heard that? Cuz that's crazy I would never-well not never but im not-we're not" He stuttered as our friends laughed behind him.

"Don't mind him, he's just being dumb. Im Hilarry" She smiled.

"And im Tyler"

"Im Monica"

"Im Julissa...and this is Abraham" She said watching her boyfriend clean his glasses confusingly.

"What the fuck?! Why is there cheese on my glasses?!" Abraham half-yelled while Julissa sighed.

"W-well I just want you to know that I really like Jocelyn and I would never dream of hurting her"

"Okay" Dylan shrugged, making us all surprised.

"Really?! That's it?!" I yelled.

"Well yeah, he seemed scared. I believe him" He said before walking away. I looked towards my equally stunned friends and boyfriend.

"That went better than expected" I said, making my friends nod in agreement.

I watched the fireworks in awe, trying to ignore Richie's comments.

"Wow! It's a circle! I wonder what shape it's gonna be next, oh wait. It's another fucking circle!" Richie dramatically yelled, making us all sigh.

I looked towards Eddie, seeing that he was already staring at me. He turned red when I noticed him and I giggled. He looked over to where his mom was. Seeing that she was staring directly at him he stiffened up and turned his attention back to the fireworks. I sighed and looked at them as well. He grabbed my hand discreetly and interlaced our fingers. I smiled at the gesture and continued looking straight.

"If I could, I would totally kiss you right now"

"Me too" I smiled.

I said goodbye to my friends, except for Eddie. He left right away without telling anyone. We all found it weird but we figured he just went with his mom. I met Dylan and his friends at the entrance.

"He was cute. I like him" Julissa smiled.

"Me too! With his little inhaler" Monica added, putting her hand over her heart.

"As much as I hate to say it. I like him" Dylan sighed.

"Jocelyn!" Eddie yelled, making me turn around.

"Hey! Where'd you go?"

"I went with my mom. I told her I was going to the bathroom so I could say bye to you"

"Oh, well bye Eds. I'll see you tomorrow" I said, pulling him into a hug.

We pulled apart and he kissed my cheek, aware of the fact my brother was watching. "Bye gorgeous" He whispered, running away.

I turned around with a huge smile on my face.

"Awww" The girls gushed, making me laugh.

"That was some cute shit" Dylan said in a manly voice. I shook my head at him, a huge smile on my face.
