The Dursleys, containing three people, two of whom hate magic. Petunia hated magic as it took her sister, Lily Potter, away from her. As well as it brought a strong sense of jealousy as their parents had always been more fond and proud of Lily over herself. Petunia had grown very jealous of the attention Lily had gotten and had constantly fought and argued with her sister, from the day she left for Hogwarts till the day Lily and James moved in with one another.

 The reason Vernon hated Magic wasn’t always clear, maybe it was the same as his wife. However, it was quite obvious Vernon HATED magic and tried desperately to beat it out of Harry. Dudley, on the other hand, was the polar opposite of his wretched parents. Dudley was fascinated with Harry’s ability to move something without touching it, and always did the unexpected. The admiration he had for his cousin was always there inside and he wished he had been able to attend Hogwarts with Harry. 

Unfortunately, being born to muggle parents, Dudley had no magic which saddened him but he never took the sadness out on his cousin. Unlike his father, Vernon did by taking his bitter feelings out on the poor boy. The Dursley child would stop his whale of a father and horse of a mother but would have nowhere to go, whereas Harry had extended family; the Weasleys. He'd heard about them from his cousin, especially of Fred, and George, twins that almost nobody could tell apart. Harry could, but not many others could, not even their mother tried. Yes, they loved muggles, but he highly doubted he'd be able to manage in a magic controlled house.

Harry was beginning his fourth year at Hogwarts and was beginning to doubt Dumbledore, Ron, and Hermione. Dumbledore had left him with the muggles who hated him and starved him, Ron would argue with him every chance he got and Hermione always constantly bossed him about and wouldn't let him be.
