Part One

Harry POV*

I was laying on my bed, if you could call it that, in the cold dark cupboard under the stairs. The ‘bed’  was an old mattress that was used in Dudley’s old crib. I was slowly drifting off when an owl hooted as it came through my window, it dropped a letter on my lap before flying out. I knew it wasn't any of my "friends" so I was quite surprised to see it, I picked it up and opened it slowly. 

‘Dear Harry Potter,

We have some important matters to discuss, therefore can you please come to Gringotts as soon as possible.

‘Important matters?’ I asked myself, wondering what they could have discovered, but slightly excited and curious to find out too. I got up from the mattress and began to pack. I made sure all my belongings were packed and ready to go, deciding I would go in the morning before anyone woke up. Just as I was settling into bed again the door to the cupboard opened, I panicked at first thinking it was Vernon, but relaxed when I saw it was just Dudley.

"Harry, Harry look!" He exclaimed, handing me a letter. I opened it and read it.

‘Dear Dudley Dursley, 

I am writing  to inform you of some very important matters, there has been a severe mistake, we would suggest you come to Gringotts as soon as you can

I placed the paper beside me on the mattress before pulling him into a hug. Dudley and I had always been somewhat close, he had never treated me like Vernon and Petunia did.

"I got a letter too, it said the same thing, I was planning on leaving early in the morning before anyone woke up we could go together," I told him releasing him from the hug.

"Ok, that would probably be best, because I would have no idea where to go," he answered.

"Ok then, go get some sleep," I said, pushing him out of the door.
