'baby, hey its kinda late in the day. and i have work' luke opened his eyes to see michael dressed in a suit that he had to wear for work. maybe luke was still slightly mad at michael so he just mumbled a 'whatever' before trying to fall back asleep.

'babe?' luke ignored him, hoping he would just go away. ella was stirring in his arms and he adjusted himself so she was comfortable. michael sighed at the blond before deciding it wasn't worth it.

'alright, bye' and he didn't say i love you like he normally did, and maybe thats why luke had multiple breakdowns that day.

ella could tell just how upset luke was, constantly petting his cheeks when seeing they were wet. luke would just smile and kiss her nose, smiling gently at her. 

'i love you so much ella, you have no idea'

'love!' ella squealed, jumping up on lukes lap. luke gasped and stood up, lifting the girl and spinning her.

'ella, your first word was love! oh my goodness, this is so cool. its like i taught you the word. i just, i wish michael could be here' and ella just kissed lukes forehead before snuggling into his neck, falling asleep fairly quickly. luke smiled and kissed the top of her head before taking her up to bed.

michael got home many hours later and saw luke sitting with his back towards the door. his body was shaking but michael knew he wasn't cold; the blonde was crying. michael sighed and dropped his bags near the door, walking over to where luke was sitting.

'hi baby' luke ignored him as michael wrapped his arms around him. he tried shrugging it off, quickly getting frustrated when he couldn't escape. tears started falling quicker when he realized that he couldn't stay mad at michael. he loved him too much.

'i-i'm sorry, i just. ella is so sw-eet and i love her s-o much and you keep say-ying shes leaving soon' michael cooed at the boy and picked him up, holding him from under his bum.

'baby, im sorry i made you this upset. my job is to make you super happy and comfortable and i failed at doing so. im so sorry, bear' luke smiled at the rarely used nickname. he wiped his eyes and chuckled when michael poked his side.

'where is ella?' luke squealed when remembering he needed to show michael something. he squirmed out of michaels hands and led him into what was once a hall closet. but now, the room  was decorated with fairy lights that had once been hung outside on the back porch and white blankets on which ella was lying.

'i figured that she was going to need a room so she didnt get too uncomfortable in her carseat. it didn't look to nice, being all cramed into that little space' michael just wanted to scream because luke was so sweet and adorable and he didn't deserve him.

'i love you so much luke, did you know that?' luke blushed and buried his face into michaels chest.

'i love you too'
