This is Emmy. She was a Quarter at my barn, who recently had to be put down...
This is part of the email I got that tells about what happened to her:
It is with a very heavy heart that I must share with you some sad news regarding Emmy. She has been under a vet's care for about a month now due to the sudden atrophy of her muscles in her hind-end. The vet has said we have done all that we can do for her and that the damage to the nerve that signals those muscles will never repair. While there have been no definitive diagnoses, it is the vet team's experience and expert opinion that there has been some type of trauma that damaged that nerve OR it could be EPM (Equine protozoal myeloencephalitis), and the only course of action left for us to pursue is to euthanize Emmy. We feel the humane and most responsible action at this time is to help her cross the rainbow before she ends up in a struggle to stand after laying down.
Everybody loved Emmy, especially one girl(the one in the picture) She was a lesson horse, specifically used for therapudic riding, which is what she is doing in the picture
She crossed the rainbow on July 28, 2017. We love and will missypou always Emmy!
