Please let me know if the picture doesn't show up!
If it doesn't, this is what it says:
Hi
I'm completely new to riding. I've only been riding for about a month and half, and I'm currently learning to canter, as my sitting and rising trot are coming along nicely, I do like my riding school and my instructor is very good, but I just have an issue with constantly being told to give them a good a right whack or bootful to get them going. I know riding school horses are different to say an everyday non riding school horse, its just I don't want to eventually get a share or something and end up flat on my face because your everyday horse doesn't need a bootful to get going. I would just really like to be told how to rode with light leg pressure and instructing the horse what I want them to do instead of outgoing the boot in or using my whip. I also have the issue when I'm steering to being taught to use only my reins, not my legs?? Is anyone else having these issues?? What can I do to change this? I just really want to learn properly and not just to use brute force to get them moving!
Any advice would be muchly appreciated!!!
Stacy

I want you guys to Comment what you think abpout it!
My opinion:
Every horse is different! Some horses you do have to give a good bootful to, and sometimes you don't. some horses will move at barely any pressure at all! The horse I first started riding at my barn was so stubborn, I had to have a crop at my side and kick him to get him going. They switched me off of him and to the horse I'm riding now. It usually doesn't take much to get him going!
