Chapter one

You're more nervous then you've ever been. In five minutes you'll be walking down the halls of your new high school. Everything you've been told about what to expect to happen during high school rushes through your mind. Your first boyfriend. Your first kiss. Your first...time. Well maybe not that one considering you've never even had a boyfriend or been in love. Your don't even know how to be in a relationship. What do you do in front of other people? How do find the perfect balance between school, friends, and him? Or maybe her? You're pretty sure you're straight so your first relationship most likely won't be with a -
"Okay we're here!" Your mom interrupts your thoughts.
"Are you ready for your first day of high school?" Your mom practically squeals."Do you have your lunch? What about your agenda? Maybe we should walk in with you just in case."
"Gosh Laura, she'll be fine." Your other mom says.
"I know but I'm just so proud and happy for you. I know how much you wanted to go here." Your moms have always been complete opposites. They met in college and were really good friends. Your mom Laura met your birth father in high school and had you when she was 17. Apparently having a baby in high school wasn't part of your dads plan because after high school ended, he left and stopped talking to your mom. Your mom was always a good student and she got into a good college in Omaha, Nebraska called University of Omaha. She moved to Omaha with you and stayed with one of her good friends that wasn't going to college so she wouldn't have to put you in daycare as often. She was introduced to your other mom, Ally and the rest is history. You've been loving in Omaha ever since and you decided to move high schools when you realized you weren't gaining anything from the less than substantial education. Your moms agreed to send you to Westside High as long as you got good grades and focused on your school work.
"Okay if you're sure you'll be fine ..."
"I will be. Don't worry mom."
"Okay. You're becoming such a beautiful young lady. We love you so much."
"I love you guys too." You lean forward and are enveloped in their arms. "Bye!" You say as you grab your backpack and open the car door. You step out of the car and look around at everybody hugging and reuniting after summer and you immediately get the feeling that something important is going to happen today.
