She waited through moonlight.
A young face stared at her soul,
Tiny hands toyed with a doll,
Mother was her role,
Father was a black hole.
She remained through daylight.
She never forgot she was just a small employee on the payroll,
So no delectable duck confit filled their bowl,
But can't remember the time where she danced to rock 'n roll,
The doll was one she stole.
She lingered through the plight.
He promised self control,
In silence, though, she continued to thole,
He swore to an honest money goal,
Yet her shoe still has an overused sole.
She loitered through the fight.
Blue orbs watched the keyhole,
He was gone with a pistol,
He stated it was for a stroll,
And now hopes to be eligible for parole.
She had disappeared with the next flight.
