The mission ended just like every other mission Lee had been on, and nothing was exciting about returning to the Hidden Leaf. However when a girl is found passed out in the snow en route, they both learn what true love is and that your past doesn't...
No One's POV: Lady Tsunade and the anbu leaders quieted the ninja present and Sayuri continued.
Sayuri: "Upon returning home my father celebrated my new engagement with a feast. My mother was mortified by this and while the others drank she helped me attempt to escape. She told me to find the hidden leaf village, they would accept me there and she was about to say something else when we were caught. My father has a high tolerance for alcohol, and he wasn't as drunk as we previously thought. The leader of the anbu, the only one with a name held me under a binding jutsu I couldn't escape while I was forced to watch my mother be beaten by my father. He told her she should remember her place. That was the night I learned I was the daughter of a concubine."
The crowd gasped, Lee couldn't stand it any longer and he ran out to her crying. He grabbed onto her and hugged her close saying that she had such a rough life that he couldn't stand it. Sayuri was genuinely shocked and confused. She stood stiff while he hugged her, she had never been hugged before by anyone but her mother, but that like all of her other happy memories were blurry and obscured by her curse mark. The hug felt nice, he was warm and smelled like sweat and the forest from training.
He soon let her go upon Guy sensei's orders and returned to his side. Much to Sayuri's disappointment.
Sayuri: "Anyways, my mother was punished and my father was going to punish me but Jun the Anbu leader stopped him."
*Flashback*
Jun: "Forgive my intrusion on this matter, but I believe punishing her won't solve the issue."
Father: "How dare you question my decisions, don't you know who I am!?"
Jun: "I am well aware, but I have a solution to your problem. Let her join the anbu. It was her emotions that overwhelmed her and made her act in such a way. Punishing her won't stop them, and it won't stop her from running away from her future master either. As an anbu she will be given the customary curse mark that will cut off her emotions. We can break her free spirit and make her obey any command. She will get stronger as well and be able to protect her master as he wishes."
Father: "Your plan is brilliant, yes let's do it. How soon can she get her curse mark?"
Jun: "Right now if you wish."
Father: "Do it."
*Jun prepares the ceremony, mother slowly comes to after having passed out*
Jun: "Let's begin."
*ceremony starts*
Sayuri while crying: "No! No! Daddy please don't let him do this! Please. No no no!" *Sayuri screams*
*flashback ends*
Sayuri: "And so I was forced to join the anbu where they put me through the most intense training and spirit crushing missions. That was when Jun became stricken with an illness of his chakra and his curse mark weakened. I feigned not being able to heal his illness and so it is steadily growing weaker as he is dying.
Tsunade: "How is it that you came to be injured in the forest of your homeland? What were you escaping from?"
Sayuri: "I can't talk about that, all I can say is that I succeeded in a mission I would have rather failed and my actions afterwards condemned me to death. I escaped however and was lucky enough to be found by your ninjas. I am forever in their debt."
With that Sayuri bowed to the team who had rescued her.
Tsunade:"It has been agreed upon that you will from now on be an anbu in our village as well as serve in the hospital. Here is your mask"
Tsunade gave to Sayuri a mask, her new identity in the hidden leaf. She hoped that she had made Kakashi sensei and Guy sensei proud and proud they were, but melancholy far outweighed joy. They knew that from now on she would be an assassin and spy for the village on the most dangerous missions. It was a dark prospect.
