A.N. Hello and thank you all for choosing to read this story. I would really love feedback so don't be afraid to review. Good, Bad, Ugly... Just do it! Thank you again for choosing to read this story.
"We are not being obeyed," says one of the elders to his brother. "The angels and demons are mix breeding," he continued.
"They are creating a new species!" continues Puntreo, "If they do this the fairies will retaliate with war. They are creating an unbalance in the rulers we have placed. The angels are to rule the skies, the fairies; the land, and the demons the Underworld. There will be unbalance!"
The middle brother, interrupted and stated, "If there is a war many of the weaker species will be destroyed. Though I unusually try not to, I have to agree with Puntreo. We must act now to protect our people" Nucies concluded.
"To protect our people?" Amnec inquired, "Or to protect your human lover?"
Nucies did not even act surprised that his brother knew of his forbidden affair. "She will be protected no matter the case." Since the elders are all tasked with overseeing the realm, Nucies saw no point in starting an argument.
"The angles and demons have been reproducing consistently creating a newer and surprisingly stronger species. This, we only tolerated because we assumed the rulers would gain control. However, when the king of the underground and the queen of the skies mated creating an offspring, I lost hope for them. All of those who were involved with the creation of this species will be—"
"They will be punished by spending their immortality in the fiery pits of hell to which there is no escape!" Puntreo interrupts.
"As for the superiors," Amnec continues as if he wasn't just interrupted, "they will wish for a penance worse than anything the fiery pits of hell could give them." Amnec concluded solemnly and then continued, "the realms that we have created as of yet will be destroyed. We will start anew."
After the last statement, Nucies began to protest. "We do not have to destroy it! We can fix it," after a pause he continues "And you cannot do it without me. I refuse to destroy the world."
"The balance must be kept—"Amnec starts
"Then destroy the supernatural realm! That is the origin of this problem. You cannot destroy what has done no wrong. She's innocent!" Nucies could not deny that his reason for disagreeing lied with the woman of his desires.
"If you had followed our laws, you would not being this situation. You should have left the human alone in the beginning." Puntreo finally joins the argument while turning away from his brother, "Amnec and myself will complete the act alone. We do not need you." As they stared away at each other waiting for a challenge as the thunder and lightning lit up the sky sensing the arising conflict. After an eternity of staring at one another Puntreo waves his hand, sending a sonic wave meant to destroy both of the realms, saying, "It is done."
"No!" Nucies retaliates quickly as he extends his hands countering Puntreo's attack, causing a blinding light in the natural realm followed by an explosion. All three of the elders watched as the smoke from the eruption die down and left a small, glowing ball of energy that was about the size of the a person in the fetal position. It was positioned in the middle of a new clearing and it was noticed by the three elders that the ball was growing at a quick but alarming rate and in about thirty years it would be detrimental to both of the realms. After realizing this, Nucies tries to reason with his brothers. "We have to stop it," he nearly pleaded to which Puntreo scoffed.
"It's better this way really. And if you really want, we will make you another whore the next time around," Puntreo attempted to reason with his brother.
"Do not defile her name with your petty insults!"
"What is it that you like about her? Is it her wondrous mind? Or the way she listens when you speak? Or do you love the way she can lay on—"Puntreo was interjected by his brother throwing fire at his head which he dodged and began to laugh. "So it is true then?" He looks at his brother and then says, "This is love, right? Your protesting and all of this fighting, it's all for her right? I have already said that we will make another one." Before Nucies can retaliate he continued, "We can make her exactly how this one is, same hair and height. There will be no difference."
"She cannot be replicated brother," he said with disgust.
"Well that's too bad, isn't it; especially since the process has already started. The world will be destroyed," he looked at his brother incredulously and continued, "and you helped didn't you?"
Nucies knew that he was fighting a losing battle and soon his other brother would state his decision. He looked to his eldest brother begging for him to understand his dilemma, "Brother, please, if we cannot allow them all to live them let her be. Let me have her. She can stay with us here and if need be I will teach her to do something, anything! If Puntreo won't listen then you will. You have to! Let her live."
Amnec closed his eyes and began to think while Puntreo responded to his brother, "when all of the humans were created they had a purpose. She would not be able to do anything here."
"She could learn."
"She will be destroyed! Unrecognizable. Just as the entire realm—"
Puntreo was interrupted by Amnec who decided to intervene, "No. Now is not the time. We will stop this destruction; together."
"No," Puntreo defies his older brother. "If there is not an alternate then so be it; let them rot as the angels and demons will. Their offences were not as the rulers but they were present and they were to be punished anyways. This way it saves us the trouble."
There was a long lingering silence until Amnec broke it with a proposition, "There is another way," he starts and waits for an outburst from his youngest brother but when he receives none he continues, "We can allow them to save themselves." After another pause he explains, "We will grant them gifts. Abilities. They will learn to protect themselves and either contain or destroy what can end them."
"That is not enough. They will still perish. They have to get something in addition to these 'gifts'" Nucies.
"They have their lives, these gifts, and a chance," Puntreo argued.
"I propose that only a select few are chosen to have these gifts. Those that are chosen should be reborn into the supernatural realm as well as immortal."
Before Puntreo could protest, Amnec agreed by nodding his head saying, "When their new lives begin they will have no recollection of their lives in the natural realm."
After a moment of thinking Nucies reluctantly agreed but then stated another proposal, "For as long as they have their gifts, they will not age."
"Then how will they die?" Puntreo asks innocently.
Amnec raises an eyebrow at Nucies waiting for an answer to the question. Nucies glares at his younger brother but says, "They can be killed."
Amnec nodded again and looked at Puntreo who also agreed albeit more reluctantly. "Choose wisely who you chose to make one of the gifted." Amnec mumbled.
"They will succeed no matter what obstacles—"Nucies starts but is interrupted by his elder brother.
"It is not their success that I worry about, but of the aftermath. The explosion has broken the barrier between the two realms. The only thing stopping the stronger creatures from taking over the natural realm is the explosion itself. The two realms have collided. I have a feeling that we should prepare for a war in which everything can be lost. You, especially, have much to lose Nucies. There was a reason for the rift between the realms. We will not intercede on the behalf of the realms; they will rely solely on the gifted. I feel there will be much lost. Prepare for the realms being taken over by the supernatural.
