Fleeing to an unknown planet was the only option Bria had left. She didn't dare to stay with Thel until she figured out what was going on. She didn't want to risk hurting him, or any of the crew.
She thought she got rid of the Mistress. She thought that was all over. Why is Bria able to use her powers though? What is happening to her?
Am I slowly dying?
She cried as she drove the pelican. It's a good thing she knew how to drive these things by now, or she would have crashed about a hundred times by now.
She finally decided to land. She didn't know where she was. She didn't recognize this place at all.
Of course, she's been seeing double for the past few hours.
She exited the pelican and landed on her knees crying in her hands.
"I'm so sorry!" She cried. "I am so scared."
She finally stood up and looked around. Her eyes finally focused. And she noticed a rock hovering near her. She also noticed her hand pointed at it. Meaning her powers were in use. She quickly put it down.
Where was she?
She noticed in the distance a city full of civilians. She wanted to go to it.
Another rock hovered without her command.
She needed help.
As much of a risk, it was to go to that city, there had to be one person who could help her control this power. If not, she feared she could do much harm.
She threw on a hoodie over her dress and stuffed her hands in her pockets. Maybe she could control the power then.
She walked to the city. There were plenty of civilians walking the streets. Bria felt uncomfortable, she didn't want to become a monster to these people.
Her head suddenly pounded harder. Images flashed through her head. Worlds burning, people dying. Basically, the same pictures that flashed through her head when the Mistress took over. She felt like she was being pushed down to her knees. She was in so much pain, she didn't notice the person behind her.
"Excuse me?" She heard a voice. She stood up, but didn't turn around but didn't look them in the eye.
"Is this your necklace?"
She turned around and look at the person. It was a man with bright green eyes and dark hair, his smirk looked kind of sexy
Bria grabbed the necklace that fell off her neck. "Thank you." She says.
But his smile faded when he met her eyes. "Y-your eyes?" He said.
She quickly pulled the hood over her head. "I-I'm sorry. I'm not a monster I promise!"
"You're... You're like me?" He questioned.
She looked up at him. "Like you? What do you mean?"
He bowed his head slightly. "Forgive me. I recognize your power."
Bria smiled. This was her lucky day.
"Come. Let's go get a drink and I'll tell you all about it." He said.
She quickly nodded and followed him into the bar. They both sat in a booth across from each other.
"What do you mean you're like me?" She asked him.
"Well to an extent. I'm a science experiment. Basically a hybrid." He said.
"A hybrid?" She was fascinated.
"Indeed. I was originally a human. But my blood was mixed with a Hunters and Elites. I'm assuming you know what that is." He gestured to the UNSC hoodie she was wearing.
"Oh yeah." She giggled awkwardly.
"Are you a hybrid as well?" He asked.
She shook her head. "It's hard to explain."
"It's okay. You can trust me. We can help each other." He smiled.
She hesitated but soon told him the whole story. She told him about the Mistress, Sangheilios. Pretty much everything but Thel.
"I'm just scared she's still a part of me." She said.
"It isn't." She looked at him. "The power you have, when she died it was too powerful to die, so it transferred into you." He said.
"That's... Actually kind of terrifying." She said.
"It is. But you'll get the hang of it soon. You help me and I'll help you." He replied.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"Meet me back here tomorrow night and I'll tell you." He said. Got up and left.
Bria was left scared and confused.
