By the time Kaden and I got back to the pack house. The rain had slowed to a light drizzle. "Thanks," I said as we entered the house.
"For what?" Kaden asked.
"Not giving up on me, even though when there were times where I knew you wanted to," I replied.
He sent me a soft smile. "Now if you weren't in my life, I think it would be very boring."
I let out a small laugh. "Yeah because life as a werewolf is so boring," I replied with a smile. "Thanks, I needed that. I'll talk to you later." was the last thing I said to him before disappearing up the stairs.
I fell back onto my bed when I get into the room. As I close my eyes I hear a soft knock. "Come in," I said to whoever it was.
Eden popped into the room. "Are you okay Leah?" She asked coming over to the side of the bed.
I smiled at how caring she is. "Yes, Eden. I'm feeling much better, sort of." I replied. She climbed on top of the bed and laid down beside me.
"Do you miss her?" Eden asked me. I knew she was talking about my aunt.
"Yes," I whispered. "Every seconded since she has been gone."
Eden reached over and hugged me, which I returned. "I miss my parents." She sniffled and I pulled her farther into the hug when I heard that.
"I miss mine too," I said to her. Eden looked up at me. "Do you want to talk about it?" I asked her. Eden nodded her head.
She sat up before speaking. "They died about two years ago. I don't remember it that much, but Kaden has told me the story a million times." She took a deep breath before continuing. "They were out running, dad, mom, and Kaden, late at night. Kaden had just turned 19 not too long before."
"An angry rogue came wandering into the territory. Dad thought he could take him, but it turned out that the rogue was a lot stronger than my dad, even when he was the Alpha. My dad was on the ground with the next few minutes and soon followed my mom. Dad had told Kaden to go back to the pack before the fighting had begun, and he didn't want to disobey our father so he did was he was told. We didn't find out until the next morning that they had died."
Tears had slipped down her face as she finished talking. I pulled her down into a hug. "Shh, it's okay sweetie. At least you knew your parents, I hardly even remember mine. We have to stick together okay." I said to her.
She nodded her head. "Yeah," She whispered. A small smirk appeared on her face and she glanced up at me.
"What?" I asked a little confused.
"Do you like my brother?" She asked and looked at me with a knowing smile. I began to laugh.
"Why would you think that?" I asked her. Why would she think that? Sure we are mates and all, but that doesn't mean anything. That doesn't mean I like him or vice versa.
She looked at me as if I was stupid. "Because I see the way you look at each other! It's the same way my mom used to look at my dad. Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean everyone else can't." She replied rather quickly.
I looked at her in surprise. "Eden, I don't like your brother like that," I calmly said to her. She whacked me in the arm.
"What was that for?" I asked her, rubbing my arm. Man, this little girl can hit hard!
"Don't you feel anything when are you with him? Sparks, tingles, anything?" She asked.
"Kid, I think you are reading too many romance novels," I told her.
Eden stuck her tongue out at me. "No," She said. I rolled my eyes.
"Eden!" I heard Kaden's voice boom outside in the hallway.
"What?" She yelled back.
Kaden opened the door and found me and Eden on my bed. "Don't you have school to go to?" He asked.
"No, Mrs. Dawn said that I could have today off," Eden replied.
"No, she didn't Eden. She is literary downstairs waiting for you, so scram." Kaden said to his younger sister.
Eden huffed and gave me a quick hug and kiss on the cheek before bouncing out of the room.
"Sorry about her," Kaden said coming over to me and sitting on the edge of my bed.
"It's alright, we were just having a little girl talk, that's all," I said rolling onto my stomach.
I can feel Kaden's gaze on me and my makes my stomach do flips and spins. "What was this girl talk about hmm?" He asked.
I knew I couldn't say anything about what we just talked about, considering it was about him. "It's girl talk, it's private," I told him.
"You'll tell me eventually," He said. I rolled my eyes.
"Sure I will."
"It's almost 6, you want something to eat?" Kaden asked, leaving the topic for another time.
I turned and looked at him. "When do I not want something to eat?" I said to him.
"You're flirting with him is terrible," Cassie said. I rolled my eyes at her comment.
"Why did you roll your eyes?" Kaden asked.
I shrugged at him. "Nothing, just talking with my wolf."
He slowly got up off the bed. "Come on, let's get you and your crazy little wolf something to eat."
I shot right out of the bed. "My wolf isn't little, she may be a little crazy, but she isn't little!" I shouted at him. He let out a chuckle.
"Okay, if you say so." He said before grabbing my hand and dragging me down the stairs to the kitchen. My body felt tingly as he took me down the stairs.
No way I'm I going to fall for this idiot. I thought inside my mind.
No way in hell.
