Chapter 29: The Discussion

Kaden let out a sigh as if he was dreading this discussion. "Now, don't freak out." He said as if I would freak out, which I probably would.

"I'm listening," I said.

"When the Luna is introduced to the pack like you were tonight, there's a ritual that must be completed for the Luna to be completely accepted by the moon goddess." He explained.

I nodded my head for him to continue, he did. "I have to mark you." He said.

I looked at him confused. "Mark me?" I asked.

He nodded his head. "This mark makes sure that no one can claim you as their's and it shows a sign that means you are an alpha because it will be in a spot where everyone can see it."

My hand flew to my neck instantly. "You are going to bite my neck? It's that more vampire territory?" I asked a bit worried.

"Yes, it is more of a vampire thing, but we do it out of significance, not out of bloodlust." He clarified. "If I don't do it soon you'll go into what is called heat where you will be in immense pain until you are marked."

I looked at him. I'm pretty sure my eyes were bulging out of their socks. "Worse pain than what I felt when I first shifted?" I asked.

"Maybe?" He said questionably. I fell back onto the fluffy pillows behind me.

"How many days?" I asked him.

"Determines. Some it doesn't happen for months, others only a few days before the pain sets in." He answered.

I didn't know what to think, but I knew one thing. "There is no way in hell you are biting my neck anytime soon. So any fantasies you have running through your head I suggest you get rid of them now." I said to him.

"It's gotta happen soon Alayah," Kaden said to me. "Do you really want to go through that pain?"

"I don't care! If it happens it happens, but as of right now I just want to get some sleep tonight okay." I told him.

He sighed. "Okay, but I'm staying with you. If it does happen to start then with me being around you it won't feel as bad."

I laughed a bit. "I wasn't planning on moving from this comfy bed anyway," I said snuggling deeper into the sheets.

"Good, I like you in my bed." A smile was plastered on his face. I let out a giggle.

He leaned down and kissed my forehead. My eyes flutter shut as his lips touched my skin. When he pulled away I still felt as if they were still there.

Kaden then nuzzled the part of my neck between my shoulder blade and my neck. He nipped the side of my neck which cause me to squirm.

"That is where I'm going to bite you." He said. He pulled back up and looked at me.

"Not right now right?" I asked.

"No, not right now. Now we are going to get some sleep, you have a busy day tomorrow." He said wrapping his arms around me protectively.

"Why do I have a busy day tomorrow?" I asked.

"Because tomorrow is your official first day on the job as Luna."

I looked at him like he had two heads. "What! You mean I have to do work!" I said a little upset. "I thought people just complimented me all day and brought me gifts!"

"Sorry baby, that's not how it works." He said running his hand through my hair.

"Man!" I said.

Kaden laughed a bit. "Come on now, let's get some sleep." He said pulling me closer to him. I snuggled into his chest.

It was like we were two pieces who fit together perfectly.
