It's been about a week since Kaden and the rest of the pack rescued me from Meria. I had done nothing but thank them every chance I get.
I slowly rose from my bed. Once my bare feet hit the hardwood floor I quickly yanked them back up from the coldness. "It is getting colder outside. It's almost December." I muttered to myself.
I quickly threw on some socks to keep my feet warm. I put on one of Kaden's hoodies that he had left in here one day. It was huge on me, but it was really comfortable.
"You are in love." Cassie sighed. I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah, right," I told her sarcastically. I headed downstairs to get me something to eat. I walked into the kitchen and about jumped out of my skin when a cool wind hit me. "What the hell?"
I crossed my arms around me, trying to keep myself warm. "What's wrong Luna?" a guy I didn't know asked me.
"Why is it so cold in here?" I asked as I looked around in the cabinets for a bowl to make some cereal.
"It's not cold in here Luna. It's like 72 degrees. Same as always." He said to me. I looked at him confused.
"Then why am I so cold?" I shivered.
The man shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know Luna. Would you like me to go get the Alpha for you?"
"Yes, please," I said. He nodded his head then left the room. "Ugh! Why can't I find a bowl in this entire kitchen!"
There was one cabinet I couldn't reach so I climbed up onto the counter and looked inside. There inside was the bowls. "Finally!"
"Luna?" the man from earlier voice rang in my ear. I spun around which almost caused me to fall, but luckily I caught myself.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Alpha is in a meeting at the moment." He responded.
I hopped off the counter. "Where is he?" I demanded.
"He is two houses down, near the playground." the man said.
"Thank you," I said before marching outside without grabbing a coat so it made me even colder than I already was.
I swung open the door that I thought where the meeting was and lucky I was right.
"Alayah?" Kaden's voice popped out.
"I've been looking for you," I said leaning against the wall for support. I was feeling light headed all the sudden.
Kaden came over to me and looked at me confused. "What's wrong?" He asked.
"Why is it so cold inside the pack house and in here apparently," I asked him. He looked at me confused.
"Alayah, it's always 72 degrees in the buildings." He told me.
"What? Then why am I so cold and why do I feel as if I'm going to pass out any moment?" I asked him.
He looked at me worriedly. "We need to get you to the pack doctor, now." Kaden swiftly picked me up bridal style and quickly we arrived at the pack doctor.
"Jake, something is wrong with Alayah," Kaden said as he placed me down on the hospital bed.
Jake was at my side in seconds. "What's wrong?" He asked worriedly.
"I am fucking cold and I'm really light headed," I said covering up with the blankets around me, but I still couldn't stay warm.
Jake put his hand on my forehead. "Leah, you are burning up." He commented before sticking a thermometer into my mouth to check my temperature. "You have a 106-degree fever. That's not good." He said.
