"What's wrong Marisa?" I asked concerned. She may have stopped being my friend but I haven't stopped being hers.
"I can't explain over the phone. Come to your Aunt Charlotte's house and I'll explain there." She said in a hushed tone as if she didn't want anyone to overhear her.
"I'll be right there Marisa," I said before hanging up the phone. I untangled myself from Kaden and headed to the door. I heard Kaden get up and follow me. "I"ll be back. Tell the twins where I'm at if they know where I'm at anyway." I said before opening the door and rushing towards the woods to get to Aunt Charlotte's house fast.
"Be safe Alayah," Kaden mind-linked me.
"Always," I sent back before I blocked him. I didn't need him invading Marisa and I's conversation and I know that's something he would do.
I sprinted through the woods trying to get to Aunt Charlotte's house quickly. I didn't care about the tree limbs hitting me in the face or a simple scrab of a bush on my leg, I had to get to Marisa. I saw the house coming into view and saw that a light was turned on. I assume Marisa is in the house.
I used my old key that was on a chain I kept around my neck. I unlocked the back door and ran over to the living room where I knew Marisa would be. "Marisa, what's wrong?" I asked scared and worried.
She was sitting down on the couch her legs crossed and she didn't look happy. I sat down on the couch beside her and waited for her to respond. I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. "I was kicked out of my pack." She said slowly and monotoned. Her face was now looking down towards the ground in disappointment and embarrassment.
I looked at her in shock and utter confusion. How on earth did she get kicked out of her pack? I asked myself. "Marisa," Was all I could get out at first but I managed to push my shock aside and finish the sentence. "How did you get kicked out of your pack?"
Marisa breathed heavily before lifting her face to meet my eyes. Her eyes were full of tears that were about to overflow down her face. "Let me explain for the beginning." She said taking a deep breath before she started.
"You know that female wolves are supposed to save themselves for their mate." She said.
I looked at her confused. "I did not know that. Kaden never explained that to me—not that we've talked about that or anything—but no, I haven't heard of that rule until now." I said.
"Some Alpha he is," Marisa muttered. "Anyway, yes they are supposed to save themselves for their mate and usually we don't find our mates until 20 or so. Me being me, I was out at a party the other day and got a bit too drunk. Now it takes a lot to get us drunk but it is possible and well the next thing I knew I was waking up in someone else's bed completely butt naked and the guy was laying right next to me."
"So you had sex with a guy that you have no clue who he was and because of that you got kicked out of the pack?" I asked her to make sure I was right.
"It wouldn't have been a problem if the guy didn't have a mate and he also happened to be in my pack. No one would have known if his stupid mate wouldn't have told on us and now I have no place to go. I can't come back to my parents. Once you are banished from a pack you can't come back." Tears streamed down her face as she finished.
I scooted closer and wrapped my arms around Marisa and we just held each other, both of us were crying. "So where are you going to go now?" I asked her.
"I don't know. I was hoping your Alpha would let me stay in his pack for a bit." She said. "I mean you are his mate. I bet you could convince him."
I laughed. "How on earth did you know he was my mate?" I asked a bit confused but happy that she knew.
"It was pretty obvious from the start and so I just assumed but now that you've admitted it I guess it is true." She laughed along with me. "So do you think he'll let me stay with you guys for a bit?"
"Marisa, I wouldn't be here if I wasn't your friend and still cared about you. Of course, he'll let you say, even if I have to convince him otherwise." I told her.
She looked at me. Apology was written all over her face along with guilt. "You still consider me your friend even after how I treated you?" Marisa said.
I pulled her into a hug. "Marisa, you were just upset and I understood that and so I didn't give up hope that you'd come around and put that silly feud behind us."
"Thank you, Leah." She said with tears in her eyes. They were different tears, happy instead of the sad ones she had started with.
I got up from the couch and held out my hand. "Come on, let's head back to my pack and speak with Kaden," I said.
Marisa smiled and took my hand and we walked out of the house. I locked the door before we took off into the woods back to the pack house. "Kaden, we are coming back to the pack house." I sent him.
"Good because you don't even know how much your siblings are driving me nuts," Kaden replied. I let out a small giggle.
"What was that laugh for Leah?" Marisa asked and smiled at me a knowing smile.
"It's a surprise, sort of. Not really since I just found out about it and let me tell you I was I denial and I still don't fully understand. Everything will be explained after we back to the pack house."
"Okay,"
We continued to run in the woods and soon enough the pack house came into view. "Here we are!" I said.
I slowed my pace and so did Marisa. Just as I was about to open my mouth Kyle came running out of the pack house. "Luna!" He shouted.
I flinched at the title but I guess I've got to get used to it now. "What is it, Kyle?" I asked.
"Ohhh, so you are Luna now Leah?" Marisa said slinging her arm over my shoulder. She gave me a smile. Realization hit her and she looked at me. "But you're only 16. You can't be Luna, not yet at least."
"Yep. But it's a secret because technically I'm not supposed to be according to the pack laws. The pack needs a Luna and well since technically I'm Kaden's mate I'm the rightful Luna but whenever we went to the Alpha Conference I wanted to change that law but it didn't happen. We still had the ceremony and everything and when I felt the pack inside my head I knew the moon goddess had accepted me despite my age." I told her.
"Luna!" Kyle said dragging my attention from Marisa.
"Yes?"
"Your siblings are crazy! Can't you go control them? I mean seriously, we've had to deal with them for the last 3 hours!" Kyle said.
Were they really that bad? I thought. "It hasn't been 3 hours Kyle, more like 45 minutes," I said to him. "Stop being a drama queen."
"Leah!" I heard Padua say and run over from the pack house to me. "Save me from Henry he is trying to attack me! Your Luna, you can make him stop!" She cried out.
I turned to Marisa who looked confused as hell.
"You have siblings?"
