Chapter 8 (HANGING OUT)

LAURA

The bell rang signalling our final class is over. I quickly got my things but then I remembered something. Who will carry those boxes for me?

Laura: Hey Nick do you have some plans tonight?

Nick: Uhm... nope... Why did you ask?

Laura: Well... I'm donating some of my things to charity and they will pick it up tonight and I need someone to carry the heavy boxes for me. Will you help me?

Nick: "Yeah sure! I'll be happy to help." He said with a smile.

I also flashed a smile in return.

Nick: Shall we go?

Laura: We shall.

I said still smiling. He's such a sweet guy. And with that we walked to my house, enjoying each other's company. I didn't forgot something right?!

ROSS

Where's Laura? She's supposed to be here 10 minutes ago. As you may not know, Laura, Ellie, Miranda, my other friend Luke and I always meet up at dismissal.

Ross: "Where's Laura?" I ask annoyed.

Miranda: I don't know. Go check her on her last class.

Ross: OK.

I walk to her last class and found Mrs. Duffield writing on her class record. She's there but the classroom seems empty.

Ross: Excuse me ma'am, uhm... may I ask if Laura Marano is here?

Mrs. Duffield: As you can see the classroom is empty so I think that's a no for you. But she was here earlier but left after I dismiss them 10 minutes ago.

Ross: Oh... thanks Mrs. Duffield.

I walked back to Ellie and Miranda.

Ellie: So where's Laura?

Ross: "She left 10 minutes ago.'' I said in an annoyed tone with an annoyed face.

Miranda: Why did she leave us? What's up with her?

Luke: ''Sorry guys I'm late but I'm finally here.'' Told ya I have other friends that are boys!

Ross: ''Well at least you showed up unlike other people...'' I said completely pissed off.

I saw a confused face from Luke but I just shrug it off.

Ross: ''Well anyways, I better be going now. I'll be hanging out with Megan. See you tomorrow guys." I said waving my hand at them.

Ellie, Miranda & Luke: ''Bye!''I heard them say in unison.

I walk to the parking area of the school and found Megan together with the other populars.

Megan: Hey Ross! You ready?

Ross: Yeah.

The other populars greeted me, well except for one, Bernard Reagan. He doesn't seem to like me because he likes Megan and he thinks I like her too. He thinks I'm a competition for him.

We drove to the mall and ate dinner while talking to each other.

Matt: ''So Ross do you enjoy hanging with us?'' Matt said, he's one of the populars.

Ross: Yeah I sure do!

Dustin: ''Who do you think is the prettiest here?'' Another popular said.

There are 5 girls in the popular group Blythe, Lynn, Emily, Alyssa and of course Megan.

Ross: Uhm... I think they are all pretty but I think I'll choose Megan.

I saw Megan blushed and I smiled at her.

Ross: Excuse me for a while I need to go to the washroom. Be right back.

I walked towards the washroom and I felt someone following me.

Bernard: Hey Lynch! I thought you know I like Megan!

Ross: Yeah I know.

Bernard: ''Then WHY ARE FLIRTING WITH HER?!'' He said raising his voice.

Ross: First of all, why are you yelling at me? I'm not deaf. Second, I'm not flirting with Megan. Third, who are you to tell me what to do? And fourth, you don't own Megan!

Bernard just rolled his eyes.

Bernard: ''Just stay away from her.'' He said with a glare and walked away from me.

I rolled my eyes and went to the washroom.

Then the night went on. I had a great time with the populars especially Megan. Well I think they are not the same as the populars I've seen in movies, they are nice.

After few hours we all decided to go home. I went home first and said my goodbye to them.

MEGAN

Matt: Megan have you asked Ross about it yet?

Megan: Not yet.

Matt: Then when are you planning to ask him?

Megan: It's still not the right time. But I'll ask him a soon as possible. I promise.

Matt: ''Well it better be soon.'' He said leaving me.

I sigh then decided to just go home.

LAURA

After Nick helped me with the boxes, we decided to hang out for a while. Then when it was getting late, he decided to go home.

Laura: Thank you so much for helping me me Nick. I had a great time hanging out with you.

Nick: No problem Laura. Anytime. I hope it will happen again.

Laura: ''I'm sure it will.'' I said with a smile.

He smiled back at me and said his final goodbye before leaving.

I really had a great time with Nick almost like what I feel every time Ross and I are hanging out. I wonder what Ross is doing now. Is he having fun?

Then it hit me...
