Nick's POV
"Bre, you're fine. Stow the inner fansie. You can do it. Breathe in and out. In. And. Out." I was trying so hard not to laugh at her. She was being so funny right now. She'd been obsessed with Ben for years, and she was finally meeting him. This was hilarious.
I turned my attention back to my food and started eating. 'Bre is so adorable sometimes' I thought to myself, but I quickly shoved that thought away. Bre would never think of me as more than a friend. I knew that now. I was so close to asking her how she felt, back at the hotel room, and she knew the question was coming.
So instead of just answering me like she should've, she avoided the question. That's just how she was though; she had never been one for confrontation. It's whatever though. I'd just find some way to get over her.
Since the guys were all off in their own little world, I decided to pull up Google on my phone. 'How to get rid of unwanted emotions', I searched. The results were endless, but not helpful in the least. "Ooooooh, Nick had unwanted emotions." Josh whispered.
My eyes went wide. "Josh!" I exclaimed, rather annoyed that he'd seen that. I looked back at Bre to see if she'd seen it, but she wasn't in her seat. I looked around the room and my eyes landed on her just a few feet away. She was on the phone.
I watched her until she sat back down. "Who were you calling?" I asked. "A friend." She answered, smirking. "Should I be worried?" I asked. "Nah." She giggled. I raised my eyebrows. Ok then.
Five minutes later, a pretty blonde girl entered the store and gave us a huge smile. "Becca..." I glared at her jokingly. "Hello, Nick." She gave me a sickeningly sweet smile. This girl and I had been fighting forever, over who was Bre's best friend. But we were friends actually, our rivalry was all in good fun.
Bre says we are both her best friends, but that's not how it works. I had been winning throughout our childhood, but since I've been with Newsies, Becca had taken over.
Becca came and sat down in between Bre and I. 'Oh! The nerve of her', I seethed with anger.
Sky's POV
Just when I was having the most boring time of my life, a pretty blonde girl entered and said hi to Nick. Why did Nick know all the pretty girls? Granted, I wasn't necessarily attracted to Bre, but I'd be lying if I said she wasn't pretty.
The mysterious blondie locked eyes with me and smiled. I attempted to smile back, but I couldn't stop taking in her beauty long enough to try. This girl was seriously gorgeous. Her chocolate brown eyes seemed to penetrate mine as she waited for me to smile back at her.
"Hi, I'm Becca." She said sweetly. I continued to gawk, not finding the strength to tell her my name. "I-" I couldn't spit out anymore.
"He's Sky." Nick rolled his eyes. "I'm Sky." I gulped. She smiled again and took a seat across from me. "So Sky, are you a Newsie too?" She asked. I nodded my head, still unable to speak.
Becca's POV
'Poor boy. Look what I've done to him! He's practically paralyzed', I pitied him silently. Truthfully, I was freaking out too. I was just as obsessed with Newsies as Bre was. I couldn't believe the Sky Flaherty was sitting across from me!
I had to stop myself from squealing. I really had to keep my cool if I was going to keep him interested. The moment I acted like an uncultured fansie, he would head for the hills. He'd probably seen too many of those in his time.
Sky had been my celebrity crush forever; there was no way I was letting this chance go. I don't think he'd spoken a word yet though. Was I coming on too strong? Was I too scary? Oh dear.
