How is this possible? Is there any explanation to why I have been dreaming about this city? If there is, I want to find out why, and that thought is what kept me moving to get ready for the feast.
I walk towards my bed and look at the dress the girl had chosen for me. It was a beautiful white and beige dress with some flower embroideries sawn into the material. It is beautiful and simple and that is exactly why I like it so much. It is the first time for me to be able to wear such an extravagant and beautiful dress. After having put the dress on I walk towards the mirror.
"Wow," I mutter to myself.
I look like a completely different person. You could almost say that I look like a princess from those movies I liked to watch when I was younger. I didn't do much with my hair, just let my curls flow down my shoulders and pull one side back behind my ear. I slip the beige heeled shoes on that lay next to the bed and make my way towards the door.
I decide to wait outside my room, so I could be able to explore a little bit more of this beautiful 'palace'. But sadly, when I step out a man dressed in armor holding a sword is already waiting for me.
"Lady Ingrid An Hilde I am here to accompany you to the feast."
I think I am never going to get used to the name everyone keeps calling me here. I just nod and follow the soldier.
We walk through a few corridors not really meeting anyone else. The walls and ceilings look almost identical to the ones in the room I have been staying in this couple of hours. Everything is decorated in golden, silver and red colors, which looks quite beautiful and like in a dream. What an irony!
Then the soldier stops in front of a very big door and I already hear people talking from inside the room. He opens the door and walks in demanding me to stay behind.
"I present to you Ingrid An Hilde the daughter of Heimdall and Freyja."
I step into the great hall in front of me. Feeling the stares and whispers of everyone in the room. At the end of the table, I see Odin, the man who had brought me to this place, sitting next to his wife. She smiles at me and points to the seat on the side next to her. I don't know what to do so I just smile and walk towards my seat.
It is a large table with over 100 people sitting next to it and all are staring at me. It is an understatement to say that I am totally nervous.
"You look beautiful my dear." I hear the queen say while I am sitting down.
But before having the chance to answer I hear a deep voice say.
"Indeed she does."
I look at the man sitting in front of me. His long blonde hair pulled back, but still most of it hanging over his shoulders. He has beautiful blue eyes and some facial hair defining his masculinity. He was handsome no doubt. I look into his deep blue eyes and say.
"Thank you...both" while looking back to the woman
"Frigga and I are very happy to have you here with us and I hope you will enjoy your stay." Odin finally says and I just smile back not really knowing what to say.
"I am Thor, Son of Odin, pleased to meet you." I hear the man opposite from me say.
"Anna Clarke," I reply afterward.
He holds my stare for a bit but then turns away talking to an older man next to him.
"Thor, where is your brother?" Frigga asks his son interrupting his conversation.
He just shrugs his shoulders and returns to talk to his friend, Frigga sights.
"I bet you have a lot of questions you want to ask me, Anna," Odin speaks.
"Yes." I pause and look at Odin and then at Frigga. "First of all, I would like to know where I am and why I am even here," I answer bluntly.
Odin smiles at Frigga and starts.
"This is Asgard one of the places of the Nine Realms. The place where you lived most of your life, Midgard, is one of those realms. Some of us are perhaps known to you by Nordic Mythology, but as you can see we exist and so does this place." He takes a small break. "I brought you here because it is your home and the place where you come from, but most importantly because Asgard needs you."
They need me, but why?
"If I am from here, then why was I sent to earth in the first place?" I ask curious still not believing that I was born here.
"I myself didn't know about your existence until a few days ago when I found a letter from your mother addressed to your father. When I,...when we found out about you, we finally had hope again." He responds.
"Hope?" I question.
"There are dark times awaiting Asgard, but I feel and saw that with your help we can survive them."
"With my help? But, I'm just a normal girl who dreams to become a writer and works at a bar to earn her money." I comment.
"There are powers deep inside you Anna. Powers that we are going to help you find and develop."
Powers...my dreams...can there be some kind of a connection?
"Are you telling me that I can perform magic?" I ask shocked.
"My husband is telling you that you are one of us, you are a goddess," Frigga adds.
I am a what? This can't be possible how on earth can I Anna Clarke be a goddess?
"I know it is a lot to take in, but think about it. In some kind of way it must make sense in your mind." Odin states sensing that I was keeping something from him, while standing up and watching all the people or should I say gods in front of him.
"Now Asgardians we feast."
