I slowly try to open my eyes, but it isn't as easy as normally, they still feel so heavy, because of everything that happened recently. My eyes start to adjust to their surroundings. I am not welcomed by my grey plain apartment ceiling, but more to a beautiful, gold and silver decorated one. Where was I? Was this the strange place the old man had talked about? My home? Why on earth did I even go with that man? That's one of the first things that you learn as a child, don't go with strangers! Still, that is what I did only hours ago. The man was one of the first people to talk about my parents and still after not bothering about them, I know that I always wanted to know who they were.
I am laying in a large bed, which appears to be in the shape of half a circle. I try to sit up to inspect more of the surroundings, but to my denial, it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be because my head starts to buzz and spin a bit. I take a little break and try to regain my conscience again. I still complete my action and lean my head on the wall behind me. I inspect the room I was staying in. In front of me was a big and beautiful wardrobe made out of wood and gold, next to it a big window, from where the light shines into the place. It was a small room, but still bigger than mine in London. The only thing is that there isn't a lot of decoration going on, besides the wardrobe, there is just a silver and gold decorated desk with an unknown flower sitting upon it and next to it a very big and also golden mirror. I was glad not to be able to see my reflection in it because, to be honest, I don't really want to know how I look like at the moment.
I try to look out of the window, but it was just too bright to recognize anything from afar. Before thinking about collecting all my strength and try to get out of bed, I hear footsteps approach me. I decide to stay put in the very comfortable bed.
"Oh...you are finally awake." A female voice says coming through the door of the room.
She appears and stops right in front of my bed. The woman has blond and slightly wavy hair and is wearing a lot of jewelry which suits her. She is wearing a white and long dress, which only stops a few centimeters down her feet. She looks so elegant and I could only admire her about that. Like always I didn't bring out a word, so the silence stayed between me and the unknown woman.
"Let me look at you," she says in a very comforting voice while stepping a few steps in my direction.
She walks to the side of the large bed and sits right next to me, not stopping to look me in the eyes.
"You look so much like her." She whispers.
Now I was curious!
"Like who?" I ask in a raspy voice.
"Like your mother," she answers politely.
Those were one of the three words I thought I would never hear in my life, but now at this very moment this woman, that I don't even know, talks about my resemblance to my mother. A woman I have never even seen in my life.
