Nick's POV
I slammed my phone againts the counter in desperation. Miley couldnt answer my calls when I really need her to.
I need to ask her how should I break it to Olivia? My mind feels like it's on a dead end, there's no way.
I cupped my face, my elbows againts the cold marble counter as I racked my brain.
I need to do this for Miley, I know this hurts her, if only it was possible to hurt her nor Olivia.
Miley made me believe I wasn't a bad guy, and I want to keep it that way, but I know deep down that I need to be one in order to break up with Olivia.
She was a fun person to be with, honestly. And somehow it worked with her because we didn't argue as much as me and Miley did.
My phone buzzed, and I hoped it was Miley, I really need her help. I lift the phone close to my ear. "Hello?" I greeted.
"Hi!" Olivia exclaimed over the line.
My stomach dropped, I ran my fingers through my hair nervously, my eyes widened as she continued to talk.
"Where were you? You should've picked me up at the airport," She reminded.
"Oh, uh- I forgot," I blurted "I can pick you up now,"
"I'm almost home," She told me. "I gotta go, I can already see the gates."
She hunged up the phone before I could reply, and my heart started beating loudly. This is just great, she's almost here and I dont know what to say.
I heard a car rolling outside my house and I jumped from my seat. The door flew open, followed by Olivia's voice.
"Nick?" She called "I'm home,"
I wish I could run, but she had appeared in the kitchen doorway, her face red from exhaustion but a smile was plasted on her face.
She rushed to me and almost pulled me into an embrace, But I stopped her before she could get closer.
Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion at my sudden act. "What's wrong?" She asked.
I took a sharp breath and looked at her. It's now or never.
"Liv, we need to talk," I said and she looked at me confused.
"What is it?" She asked.
I didn't want to hesitate, but that might be cruel, so I paused and finally say "I'm breaking up with you,"
The room fell silent, the colors had drained from Olivia's face, her mouth gaped and her eyes searched mine.
"What?" She mumbled.
"I'm sorry," I continued. "You're a great person, but you're not for me."
Her eyes are still wide, but her parted lips closed and turned into a frown. And when I thought she was going to protest, she turned on her heel and walked away.
Seconds later I hear the door slamming shut. And that was it. She's gone.
-----------
This was it. There's absolutely nothing between me and Miley.
I had seated myself in my car, and drove it in reverse out of the garage.
I decided to visit her and tell her that I broke up with Olivia, since I couldn't call her.
I drove to the gates and it opened automatically. At the same time my phone vibrated againts my jeans.
I pulled it out of my pocket and answered it, for the second time today, I hoped it was Miley.
But the manly voice on the other line had told me differently. Before I could greet this person, he had cut me off.
"Nick?" He said
"Dad?" I guessed.
"You need to come down here right away," He said, and I could tell the few voices in the background doesn't belong to my mom.
"Where are you?" I asked, my car had finally found its way to the main road.
"Joe's house," He answered simply.
I felt that there must be something wrong going on, And somehow I had the need to ask.
"What's this about, Dad?"
He sighed over the line and paused.
"It's about Olivia."

I'm sorry for the malfunction, I promise to never make such a mistake again.
You're probably bored of my author's note, so I bid you farewell (at least for this chapter ;) )
