Today was the day that a sudden azure hedgehog would turn a year older and that means it was Sonic's birthday. The azure hedgehog was still sleeping in his bed when Shadow came to his room with a huge breakfast for the birthday boy "Wakey wakey Sonic. Today is your big day" Shadow said and Sonic woke up. He stretched and rubbed his eyes and then looked at Shadow "What are you holding there Shad? the azure hedgehog asked "Well because it's your birthday I made you some extra. Hope you like whipped eggs, bacon, sausages, waffles, toast and some orange juice and some fruit" Shadow said with a smile. Sonic starts to drool and his stomach to growl "It all look so tasty Shadow. I've got no idea where to begin. Thank you very much" Sonic said with a big smile and kissed Shadow on the cheek and started eating. Shadow was blushing when Sonic kissed him on the cheek, because he wasn't expecting that to happen. He watched as the other devoured his food with a huge smile "This was just the start. I've got some more things to show you" Shadow said with a smirk and Sonic looked at his with a confused face "What do you mean by that?" Sonic asked while eating. He was almost done eating and when he was finished he went to his bathroom to take a shower and after that he got dressed. When Sonic was done he went downstairs and found Shadow in the kitchen doing the dishes and when he was done with that he walked up to Sonic and gave him a small box wrapped in blue paper with a red ribbon on top "Here. Hope you like it" Shadow said and Sonic opened his present. When it was opened there was a green Chaos Emerald inside of the small box "A Chaos Emerald. How did you know I wanted one of those?" Sonic asked "You were looking pretty much at the emerald I was using and the color of this emerald reminds me of your eyes" Shadow said and Sonic started to blush. "But this isn't just the last present. I got you a few more. Which I hope you will like" Shadow said. After a few minutes Shadow got a call and it was Blaze, she asked if he was ready to put there plan into action and Shadow said 'Yes' then he hang up "Who was that?" Sonic asked "Someone who dialed the wrong number" Shadow said.
Shadow's pov
"So are you ready for your next gift?"I asked and Sonic got really exited "YES, I'm ready. Sooo where is the next gift?" he asked me and I walked to the door and went outside "We are going to have some fun first birthday boy and then you'll find out for yourself" I said and Sonic was walking behind me. "So what do you think of a little race huh?" I asked him and of course he wouldn't refuse and asked to where we were racing to and from where we would start "The starters line is here and we will race to 'Mystic Lake' and there I'll give you your next gift" I said and Sonic was already in position. I walked to him and stood on my mark "You're ready?" I asked and he nodded "OK. In 3.. 2.. 1..... GO!!!!" I yelled and we were gone. Sonic was running in front of me and had a grin on his face "Why you're so slow Shadow? Normally you are running beside me" he said teasingly and I was now skating faster "Don't you dare say that to me hedgehog" I said and got closer to him. We went through the forest to get to 'Mystic Lake' and when we got there we were looking at a beautiful view.
