It has been a while now since Spring started and is now heading to it's last few weeks. Sonic and Shadow were walking in the park enjoying the nice weather. The sun was shining bright and there were only a few clouds in the sky and the birds were chirping happily. "What a lovely day for a nice walk. Don't you think so too Shadow?" the blue hedgehog asked "Yes it is indeed" the ebony hedgehog said and smiled at the other. They were now walking back home and to their surprise there were two familiar hedgehogs waiting at their house "Why hello there you two. What a nice surprise of you to come by" Sonic said and the two turned around to see their parents "Hi there mom and dad. It has been a while, hasn't it?" Midnight said "Yes it has and we're glad to see you both again" Shadow said and hugged his future daughter and son. Sonic got the keys out and unlocked the front door and went inside. After he got in the others also went inside and Shade closed the door behind him. When they all were inside they sat down in the living room and talked for a few hours "Does someone wants something to drink?" Sonic asked and looked at everyone "I'm kind of thirsty" Shade said and Midnight nodded "Yeah me too" she said and when he looked at Shadow he nodded too "Then coffee I think?" Sonic asked and they nodded "I'll help you with that" Midnight said and went into the kitchen together with Sonic. "So how is everything going at Tails's place?" Shadow asked "Well to be honest. He is too busy with his inventions then talking to us" Shade said "What do you mean he's to busy with his inventions and doesn't talk to you much?" Sonic asked and walked out of the kitchen "It's almost like it doesn't matter to him that we are your future children. I thought he would ask us how it is in the future" Shade said. What Sonic didn't knew was that Midnight put some powder through his coffee and stirred it a bit in the meanwhile. After that done she took the four cups of coffee into the living room "It's kind of weird to be at his home to only see him working on new inventions" Midnight said while giving the coffee with powder to Sonic and Shadow and Shade the other cups without powder "I think I'll should call Tails later this day to talk about this" Sonic said and took a sip of his coffee. Midnight and Shade looked at each other and were slightly smiling "I think you should do that. Maybe he'll listens more to you than to us" Shade said and took a sip of his coffee.

Shadow's pov

When Sonic took a sip of his coffee I saw that Midnight and Shade were slightly smiling at each other and found that a little weird, but I let it slide. When there was no coffee left I put the empty cup on the coffee table and went upstairs to my and Sonic's bedroom. Without Sonic knowing I went to a jewelry store a few days ago and bought something for him. I searched through the closet in order to find a little red with gold box. In that box was a beautiful silver ring with tiny diamonds. If you're asking yourself what kind of ring. The idea was to propose to Sonic today now we know each other for 10 years. When I found the little box I put it in my quills and went downstairs where Sonic was still talking to Midnight and Shade and he turned around when he heard me coming "Hey Shads. Where did you go? I lost you for a few minutes there" Sonic said "Oh I just had to get something from upstairs. So don't you worry about me" I said and sat down next to him "Well I think we should get going. Don't want to worry Tails much for us being away that long" Midnight said and stood up together with Shade "OK that's fine by me. I'll call him later to tell him to give more attention to you guys than his new inventions" Sonic said. Midnight and Shade nodded and waved us their goodbye and left. I looked at Sonic who looked exhausted "What's wrong? Are you tired?" I asked and he shook his head "No I'm alright, but I feel a little weird" he said "Oh. What do you mean by 'feel a little weird' my love?" I asked and I could see by his face he was going through heat again "Well I'm feeling a little weaker. I think I'm going through heat again, but it doesn't feel normal" he said and I stood up. When I did that he looked at me with a questioning face "Well before you go into fully heat let me do this first then" I said and took out the little red with gold box out of my quills and Sonic now looked very suspicious. I went in front of him and down on one knee while holding the little box in my hands "Dear Sonic. We know each other now for about 10 years and are in a relationship for almost 1 year and I love to be by your side all the time. You are my everything and always will be" I started and his eyes were lighting up, so I continued "My dear Sonikku. I love you very, very much and want to spent the rest of my life with you. Will you make me the happiest hedgehog in the whole world and marry me?" I asked while opening the little box with the ring in it. Sonic sat there on the couch with his mouth slightly open and I gave him the time to let all the words I said sink in and waited for his answer.
