"Hey girls. Sorry to wake you but dinner is ready." I opened my eyes and looked over at my door, my mom peeking her head in the door. "Okay,", I said is a shaggy voice," we'll be down soon." She smiled and then closed my door. I flopped back down on my bed with a thump and heard an "Ow". I looked at me a saw Normani laying there. "Sorry, forgot you were there." She laughed. "It's okay." This time I lightly laid back down on her, and she wrapped her arms around my waist. I tucked my head into her neck and said, "I don't wanna get up." She laughed. "Mila, I can feel the vibrations of your stomach grumbling. I think we should go eat." I dramatically sighed but still got up. She got up behind me and we walked downstairs. "YOU MADE PUDDING!", I yelled when I smelled the artificial banana smell coming from the kitchen.

We were all sat at the kitchen table. Me and Mani next to each other, my dad sat at the end, and my mom and sister next to each other on the other side. "So what did you girls do all day?", my mom asked. "We just slept." Mani giggled. "You gotta stop sleeping all day mija. It messes up your sleeping scheduled. "But I was tired and felt like shit." "Mija! Es mejor que esa boca tuya jovencita!", My dad yelled. "Sorry, papa." Normani tried in her laughs. I slapped her arm, trying not to laugh either.

There was an awkward silence for a few minutes but Normani's phone interrupted that. "Oh sorry. It's my mom.", she said getting up and answering it. She answered it and got a look of sadness on her face. "Let's go upstairs.", I said grabbing her hands and speed walking upstairs. I walked into my room and closed the door. She just went and sat on my chair.

"Yeah. Okay, i'm leaving right now.", Normani said and then hung up the phone. "what's wrong Mani?", I asked watching her pack her stuff. "My grandma is in the hospital." I immediately became sad because I know how much Normani loves her family. "Oh my god don't worry about your stuff left to go.", I said. She looked at me. "You sure?", she asked. "Yeah, I'll bring it to you on Monday. Let's just go.", I said opening the door and walking out. Normani followed behind me and we ran downstairs. "Mom we need to go. Mani's grandma is in the hospital.", I said grabbing a coat. "You want me to drive you?", she asked as she cleaned up our plates. "No it's okay I can." "No Mila you don't have to drive.", Normani said grabbing my hand as we walked outside. "No, it's fine. You just need to relax." We got in Mani's car and I started it and drove out of the parking lot.
