"You gotta go to sleep, Mani", I said. "It's fine. I'm not tired." I sighed. "Mani, it's 2:30 in the morning. You gotta go to sleep babe.", I said brushing her hair back. "Fine.", she said getting up out of the chair. She walked around the bed her grandma was in and gave her a kiss on the forehead. "I love you." She smiled before walking over to the other bed in the hospital room and laying down. She looked over at me. "Come on. Come cuddle.", she said motioning me to come lay with her. I giggled and walked over to her laying down. She cuddled up to my side and laid her head on my chest. She leaned up and gave me a kiss on the cheek. "Good night, Mila.", she said cuddling closer to me. "Good night, Mani.", I said playing with her hair and both of us soon drifting off to sleep.
I woke up and was laying by myself in the bed. I looked over and saw Normani sitting next to her grandma in the exact spot she was last night. I stretched and walked over to her. "What time did you wake up?", I said in a groggy voice. "6:30", she simply said. "You hungry?", I asked rubbing her back. "A little." "You want me to go get you something to eat? The food selection is pretty good.", I said truthfully. "How do you know?", Mani asked turning around looking at me. "I always know." She laughed and turned back around. "Sure. Thank you." I smiled and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "I'll be back soon." "Okay."
I walked out to the cafeteria and went to the breakfast area. They were serving freshly cooked steak egg and cheese bagels and I knew Mani liked steak. So I grabbed one for both of us. I grabbed a bottle of water and an apple. I grabbed an orange juice and a banana and started back to the room. Luckily her grandma's room was on the first floor cause I hate elevators. I walked back into the room and she was sitting in the same exact spot as normal. "Here I got you a steak egg and cheese.", I said putting it on the little table by the end of the bed. "Okay.", she said not moving. "Mani, it's gonna get cold.", I said taking a bite of mine. "I'll eat it later, its fine." I signed,"Okay but don't complain when you eat a cold piece of steak and don't like it.", I said gulping down some orange juice.
