Lance was hugging the toilet, his body hanged over the toilet-seat. He was coughing harshly, coughing dry with nothing coming out in till something lightly landed into the toilet. A single petal, bright red as the lion itself. A beautiful flower petal with a dark story. Lance kept on coughing and hurling trying to get everything out when he can't, tears starting to weld up in his eyes, throat sore from all the raspy coughs.

It went like that for who knows long in till there was a knock on the bathroom door,
"Lance are you okay?" It was Hunk at the door, his voice sounded worried but of course it is he heard his best friend gag.
"I am fine Hunk." Lance lied, he was trying to suppress the urge to cough his heart out.
"Dude don't lie to me, I am coming in" and with that said the bathroom door opened revealing a very worried Hunk.
"Dude what's up are you sick?" Lance sighs and nods his head, but as he did that he started to have a coughing fit again hanged over the toilet bowl he let a hole load of red petals.
"Lance?" Hunk sat now next to Lance with a knowing and worried gaze,
"Who is it?" Lance sighs and looked up to his best friend tears threatening to spill.
"It's Keith." He said it so small that Hunk almost missed it, Hunk grabbed Lance by the arm and took him into a embrace.

"Please don't tell anyone." Lance pleaded to Hunk with his dull eyes staring into the warm honey colored once eyes of Hunk.
"Lance we should tell the-" Hunk was cut off by Lance,
"Please..." Hunk saw the fear and hurt in the Cubans eyes, it hurt Hunk to not be able to help his friend. Hanahaki decease is hardly curable, the only two oppositions are the one sided love being returned or surgery what is impossible in space. Hunk sighs and nods seeing relieve surge through his eyes, Lance hugs him and says
"Thank you." The two sat there for a while Hunk comforting Lance as the boy started crying.

The paladins were standing in the training room, training was almost over and Lance was breathing heavy. It has been weeks after that Hunk found out about Lance's problem, and things only got worse, so worse the rest of the team started noticing that something was wrong.
Lance collapsed on the ground coughing harshly and trying to breath at the same time, eventually the petals started to come out of his mouth. Tears started to roll down his cheeks, crying because of the pain and because everyone would know now his secret was out. Hunk came rushing to his side trying to help as much as he can, while the others stood there still shock writing all over there faces. After the petals stopped coming out of Lance and Lance has caught his breath again, the petals that were surrounding blood lay on the ground giving a horrific sight with the message it send.

Lance decided he would look up at the others and when he does he was met with the worried, shocked and tearful faces. Lance wanted to curl up and hide away in the deepest darkest place on the ship,
"Sorry...." Lance said in a soft voice. The others still didn't say anything and Lance just got more anxious.
"Who is it?" Lance looked for the person who spoke up and to his surprise it was Keith, Lance couldn't tell him it was him he couldn't. Keith would be disgusted and hate Lance, "Don't worry about it." Was all that Lance said, Lance got up form the floor and headed out to his room planning to lay down and just sleep.

Everybody looked at the door were the broken boy just left, soon everyone's gaze settled on Hunk which looked more distressed than when Lance coughed up blood.
"Hunk, did you know about this?" Hunk nodded his head hung low like he was ashamed.
"He told me not to tell." The big guy said.
"Do you know who it is?" Shiro asked trying to figure out what to do.
"I can't tell." The team could do nothing, the only thing they could do is hope for the best.

Lance was walking to the control room with a sore throat and bloody lips, he was asked to be in the control room and with a lot of strength he got himself from the bloody ground covered in petals and made his way over there. When he entered the room he saw that all eyes was on him, feeling more anxious than before he made his way to the group. Shiro cleared his throat making a statement he was going to say something.
"Now that everyone is here we have a few questions for you Lance about your.... condition." Shiro said the last part hesitant but Lance didn't care, he nodded his head and waited for the questions to be asked.

Shiro started,
"Okay how long has this been going on?" Lance shrugged, he didn't know exactly but he thinks he is in the final stages.
"I don't know, but I think I am at my final month." Concerned face were shared over the group, all agreeing silently that they needed to do something quick. Now it was Keith's turn, "Who is it?" Lance just glared at him already saying he wasn't going to answer that. Keith sighs but let's it slip,
"Lance I figured a way to do the surgery here in the castle with Coran, we could still safe you!" Pidge said with hopeful eyes.
"I don't want to do the surgery." Lance said, heartbreak was seen in everyone's eyes all there hope sort of lost.

"Wait so you're telling us that this person is more important than your own life!?" Keith said totally shocked.
"Yes." The hole team just looked to the ground only feeling sorrow for the known faith of there friend.
"So we just wait?" Allura asked with sadness in her voice,
"I guess so." Silents was the only thing in the room now.

Coran broke the silents with one question.
"Can we at least check how long you still have?" Lance looked at the older man,
"Yeah that's fine." And with that the group headed to the healing pods.

After a while Lance fell out if the healing pod being caught by Hunk, everyone looked at Lance but than returned there gazes to Coran hoping for at least a bit of good news in this dark time. Corans worried, dark expression never changed even when he looked back at everyone else.

"He has in till next week." The sadness was evident in his voice, Lance just stood there dull without any emotions making everyone in the room uneasy and worried.

The coughing worsening Lance landed on the ground with his knees, hands reached for his throat and eyes watering because of the pain. Petals flew out of his throat landing bloody on the ground, soon leaves joined the pile a sign that he was at his last stage. The rest of the group ran to the dying boy who was kneeling on the ground, Hunk sat right beside him and rubbed his back tearing a bit up.
"Hey buddy how are you doing?" Hunk bit his lip trying not to cry, Lance smiles as he looked from Hunk to the rest of the team.
"I think it's time." Everybody looked at one another, sadness spreading throw the room, they all agreed to just sit with each other. They talked and laughed, waiting for the dreaded moment to come. Lance was happy he even lay his head in Keith's shoulder feeling warmth deep inside him, Lance laughed and closed his eyes enjoying the warmth deep inside him, the warmth of Keith and the warmth of the laughter.

His breathing slowed down, he looked up at Keith still smiling and said,
"Goodbye mullet."
Lance closed his eyes feeling all the air leave him and the warmth turning cold, the pleading voices saying his name died out as all his conscionness disappeared.

Keith shook Lance pleading for him to still be there tears forming in his eyes,
"Lance?.... Lance!?.. Lance! Oh god no LANCE!" He took the boy from his body and cradled him in his arms, tears spilling and landing on Lance's face. The others sat near Keith hugging each other and crying silently.
"Goodbye Lance, we'll miss you sharpshooter."

After they put Lance's body somewhere safe Keith turned to Hunk still crying,
"Hunk can you just tell us, who it was!?" Keith asked the man desperately,
"Fine..." Tears still dripping down his cheeks he cleared his throat.
"It was you Keith, he was in love with you." Keith eyes went wide and mouth hang open, he grabbed the roots of his hair and his breathing quickened.
"No..." He said small, "no no NO!" he eventually screamed. Hunk and the rest flinched at his outburst, tears were now heavily pouring down Keith's cheeks.
"Why couldn't you say that sooner! I fell in love with Lance, I could've returned his feelings!" Keith fully sobbed right now, hands shaking, lips trembling, rage flowing through his veins.

"IT WAS MUTUAL!"
