Jump

"Give back!" Lance yelled at his bully who held his stuffed animal up high, taunting Lance. "Aw is the baby going to cry? Does baby want they're baby toy?" He mocked him making Lance almost cry,

Why can't they leave me alone?"

Suddenly the bully in front of him topples over almost landing on Lance when he falls to the ground. Lance looks around confused at what just happened, when is eyes land on a boy with wild black hair, wearing a red shirt and black pants, holding his plushie. The smaller boy looks up from the bully he just knocked on the ground to Lance, giving him a small smile.
"This yours right?" He asks holding up the plushie, Lance quickly nods his head before grabbing it.
"Thanks," he says in a shy way, the boy in front of him gives a bright smile.
"I'm Keith, what's your name?" Lance was about to respond when the bully got from the ground glaring at Keith,
"You'll pay for this!" Before running off, probably to a teacher. The two boys look at each other before laughing their asses off,
"Oh my god, he's going to whine to the teacher!" Keith yells making Lance gasp for air, the two settled down and that's when Lance remembered he still hadn't told his name.

"Lance." Keith's smile dropped, now looking confused at Lance.
"What?"
"My name is Lance." He smiles brightly at Keith, making the other boy smile back.
"Keith, do you want to be my friend?" Keith stayed quiet for a while making Lance worried and a bit anxious, but it all disappeared when Keith smiled again.
"Of course!" Before the two could play or talk further to each other, a teacher came up marching to them fallowed by the boy from earlier.

"Who was it Derick?" The boy quickly pointed to Keith, but Lance jumped in front of him pointing at himself.
"I did it!"
"What are you doing?" Keith whispers from behind him, confused at why he takes the blame. Lance turns his head a bit looking slightly at his new friend,
"If you get in trouble, I'll get in trouble." He said with the most sincere smile that Keith quickly returned.
"No Miss South, I did it!" Keith jumped up next to Lance, the tan boy stared at him before laughing a bit.
"Nooo don't listen to Keef, I did it!"
"Nooo it was meee!" Derick just looked confused and Miss South just was getting irritated,
"Enough! You both are coming with me now!" The two boys just started to giggle before the uncontrollable laughing started, and it didn't stop when they got dragged to the detention room.

The two soon got know as the trouble makers of the town, but not totally as a bad thing. People quickly understood that they will go together no matter what the situation was, good or bad they did it together.

Keith looked down seeing the lake a few meters down below him, everyone already jumped off it now swimming in the lake. He could just come in from the side but he would be made fun of by all the other ten year olds and he didn't want that. He feels a hand on his shoulder, turning he sees it's Lance looking a bit worried at him,
"You okay buddy?"
"Yeah..." Lance looks over the edge and it seems like he came to understand what was wrong.
"You want to jump?" He asked still gazing at the water.
"Y-yes."
"Okay let's go than." Keith quickly looked at Lance who was smiling at him,
"What?" He was confused at what Lance was trying to say, and Lance sighs but with a fond smile.
"Remember what I said when we were five? ' if you get into trouble, I get into trouble.' It still stands! If you jump I'll jump, no matter what! So will you jump with me off this ledge?" Keith looked at the water below them, it wasn't a dangerous jump but he was still scared. But the words Lance just said made him feel less scared. They'll both go.
"Yeah, I'll go." Smiling up at his best friend who just looked excited.
"Alright, on three." Keith nods and takes his position while Lance counts down

"One,"

"Two,"

"... Three!"

The two ran to the edge yelling when they left the edge with a jump, Keith wasn't that scared anymore.
