Sacrifices

Keith and Lance where cuddled up against each other sitting in front of a huge window giving them excess to the beautiful sight of space. Nuzzling further into each other the boys gave a happy smile to one another, making them wish this moment would last forever. They did this every so often just to be away from the pain and hatred in the universe, they wouldn't go on little dates that the team would like to plan and help out with.

The doors opened revealing Shiro, Shiro walked up tot he couple with a smile,
"You guys should go to bed,we have a mission tomorrow remember?"
Keith groaned nuzzling into Lance chest to hide away, Lance laughs at his adorable boyfriend and hugs him tightly.
"Can we stay here Shiro?" Lance asked his leader, Shiro smiled and nodded turning to walk out.
"Just make sure you can do the mission tomorrow." Lance nods his head, realizing Shiro couldn't see him he said
"No worry." And Shiro left.

"You should sleep." Lance said to Keith who against groaned, shaking his head he laid Keith and himself down on the mountain of pillows they were sitting on.
"Goodnight Keith, I love you." He stared at the beauty that was about to fall asleep, Keith opened his eyes a bit and said
"Goodnight, I love you too Lance."

His eyes soon closed again drifting off into a peaceful sleep, Lance quickly fallowed and the to were sleep near each other comfortably for the rest of the night.

The next day

The team was on a Galra ship, Hunk and Shiro would go and search through one side of the ship when the others would go to the room they have meant to investigate. There was a bomb somewhere and the team wanted to get rid of it. Lance, Keith and Pidge were walking to the east part of the ship where the room was. The plan was for Lance and Keith to go in and Pidge to stay somewhere safe helping them to defuse the bomb.

Keith and Lance walked in Pidge was somewhere hiding for safety helping the two.
"Okay, you two need to go end cut the yellow wire than the blue, after that you should take off the TNT." Pidge informed the other two who no walked to the bomb.
Lance and Keith looked at the bomb seeing no wires at all.
"Uh Pidge? Are you sure we got the right bomb sketch?" Keith asked suspicious,
"Well we should, why?"
"Because there are no wires." Lance said and as soon as he said it the door shut with a hard sound. The two boys ran to the door banging on it, trying to find a way to open the door.
"It's a trap!" Keith said.
"Pidge we can't escape!" Lance yelled through the comms making Keith winch because he stood close to the brunet.
"I can't open it...... I can do nothing about it." Pidge said in a sour full voice, Lance and Keith just look at each other full of fear and disbelieve. The bomb ticked on,

"Are we going to die?" Keith asked in a small voice, Lance shook his head
"Not if I can help it." Lance stomps to one of the glass windows of the ship inspecting it for some reason.
"Lance what are you doing?"
"I am trying to figure a way out." Keith shook his head fear still evident in his posture.
"Lance it's already too late, the bomb is about to explode!"

"Just hold on to something okay!" Keith did as ordered and grabbed something to hold on and at that moment Lance used his jet-pack to fly to the bomb and grabbing it.
"Lance what are you doing!?"
"Trying to at least save one life!"
He quickly flew to the window where he stood before.
"Lance! Lance NO! DON'T TRY TO BE THE HERO! LANCE NO!" Keith screamed and begged for Lance to not do it, he finally figured out what Lance was going to do. With sour full and guilty eyes Lance looked at his live partner and said,
"I am sorry Keith, I love you to infinity and beyond." With a soft smile and loving eyes, the one Keith will always remember, Lance broke the window seeing the tearful, sad and screaming face of his lover. Hearing Keith's last words to him,
"NO! LANCE NO, I LOVE YOU!" Keith sobbed looking down at the ground not wanting to see the last moments of Lance.

Lance was sucked into space, still holding on tight to the bomb, Lance still gazed at Keith wanting to see the beauty for the last time. He looked at the clock of the bomb seeing it's time,

Lance closed his eyes and felt a paining heat soar through his body, that was quick to disappear and now everything was nothing.

Months later

Keith was in the control room gazing at the stars, looking at how they flickered in the dark of space. The doors opened being Pidge walking in, she spotted Keith and walked up to him seeing his dull face expression.

"Hey, how ya doing buddy?" She stood next to him looking at Keith for a bit before gazing at the stars with him.
"Fine...." Was all he answered with, Pidge sighs.
"I know you're not, we all are still not fine and we will actually never be." Keith didn't respond making Pidge continue.
"We were discussing to go back to Earth and tell Lance's family about what happened and maybe also put his grave there, we just don't know who will break the news to them."
"I'll do it" Keith said immediately, making Pidge worry a bit,
"You don't have to-"
"No I'll do it. I'll tell them everything." Pidge nods without facing him once knowing he still is stargazing.

"Which one are you looking at?" She questioned and genuinely being curious about it.
"The star that's shining the brightest." Keith simply answer's,
"Why?"
"Because I believe the one that is shining the brightest is Lance, he was always a star and I like to think he is the one shining the brightest."

Pidge decided that would be enough and walked out if the room leaving Keith on his own, he still gazed at the star that shone the brightest.
"That time by the windowsill, where we were just near each other and didn't give a damn in the world for that moment, wishing that moment would never pass. Now I wish it would have never passed because seeing the outcome, the outcome of you never being near me again just kills me from deep within me."

Bugle your seat-belts because for the next week you are in for a hell of a ride, the feels will come so be prepared (emotionally). Let's see who survives shall we?
