Chapter 4: The Claiming

I looked up to see the giant lightning bolt blazing above my head. Honestly it freaked me out because I thought I was being struck by lightning. But no. Just a symbol. I glanced over to where my friends were sitting. They were all smiling, but I think Jason had the biggest smile, because he knew he was getting a sister.

The bolt disappeared, but a piece of paper fluttered down from the sky. It landed perfectly in my hands. The paper was certainly fascinating because it was glowing gold.

I read it over silently to myself.

Dear Clover,

I am sorry I didn't direct you to this camp sooner, but it was for your own good. It was very dangerous. Don't worry I already sent you mother a note too. Good luck in camp. I am always up above, literally. Jason will teach you few things, like flying and lightning bolts. Tell him to look after you. Oh yeah and one other thing. What was it? Oh yeah... INCOMING!!!

I looked up just in time to dodge a golden figure coming down from above, at lightning speed.

I man holding a mini lightning bolt landed right where I had been a second before. Then it hit me. My moth gaped open, I noticed it was Lord Zeus himself. He was about 10 - 20 feet tall and oldish.

"I have brought you something for your adventures." He hands me a ring. "It knows what you think and say, so you can either think or say for it to become a shield sword, staff, bow and arrow, it will right in your hands. Nothing can break it. It is a gift from the gods. Crafted by Hephaestus himself. Gook Luck."

Without another word, he shot back up into the sky from where he came from.

Everyone just stood there staring at me like I had three heads.

"MAKE WAY FOR THE KING!" I hear Leo shout amongst the now standing crowd of people around me.

"MOVE IT OR LOSE IT SISTA'" I hear Piper.

"EXCUSE ME!" I hear Annabeth, Percy, and Nico saying politely.

"OUT OF MY WAY!" I heard Hazel yelling over them all.

"Sorry 'bout this everyone! COMING THROUGH!" I hear Jason. He summons the winds and pushes people out of his way.

Then I saw poor Frank poking people telling them to 'please move'. Nico summoned the dead to scare people out of his way. Percy just dropped water on people as he walked by. Frank gave up on being nice. He turned into a bird a soared over to me. I didn't even now he could do that! Apparently neither did anyone else except for my friends.

Once they all got over to me, Jason gave me a hug. He must've been exciting to get a sister. Leo also gave me a hug. It was awkward for everyone else, but I didn't care. I enjoyed it.

"At least you're not my sister." he smiled and pinched my freckle covered cheek.

Later that night, Jason led me to our cabin. He helped me even decorate my half of the house. Well actually it was more like a third of the house, because apparently there is this girl named Thalia that is also a daughter of Zeus. But, she joined Artemis a her Hunters.

"How is it? Do you like it?" Jason asked me excitedly.

"It's amazing!" I said as Jason embraced me in a hug.

"Yeah it's been a while since I've had my sister by m side again." he aid sadly, "But now I have TWO sisters!!!" he jumped around the room dancing happily. I have to admit that I was surprised my his behavior though.

"Well I'm gonna go to bed now. Goodnight." I said, as I hopped in bed with full clothes on. Oh yeah! I got to go back to get my stuff from home! O'well I will ask Chiron what to do. Tomorrow at least. Now I just want to sleep. I am super tired.

"Be careful about your dreams! The are usually scary but real and true! Don't be stupid in it!" Jason warned me, bringing me back from my thoughts.

"But it's ju-" he cut me off of course.

"Just listen to me! Ok?" He demanded.

With that I passed out, the second my head hit the pillow.
