"Hmmm.... Truth." Annabeth sounded sure about her choice.
"Ok. Do you think that this prophecy in saying that one of us may die or be left behind? Tell me your full opinion." I grinned as shifted on her feet as she walked uneasily. She was unsure and nervous.
"Well... There is always a possibility that that could be true..." Se winced at her on words. "But I hope not, but I think that we will all make it out alive and back safely." We all heard how unsure she was, and that is very rare. I mean she is Annabeth, Daughter of Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, Crafts, Battle Strategy, and War. Annabeth is NEVER unsure of herself or of what she's thinking.
"OK. Now Piper, Truth or Dare?" Annabeth changed the subject.
"I'll go with dare." Piper decided.
"Well I was hoping you'd pick truth, but oh well. I dare you do go and hug a tree." Annabeth chose to go with a random dare.
"Umm... Ok?" Piper got up and awkwardly hugged a tree. Luckily for her, a Tree Nymph lived in that tree. The Nymph sprung out of that tree and started yelling.
"Do you have any idea what you just did, TREE HUGGER?!" She hollered.
"I'm so sor-" Piper was cut off bye the Nymph.
"You woke up all my little critters and now they're whining and they won't go back to sleep because they can't fall asleep during the day! Only the night!"
"I'm sorry! I really am! Just go to sleep little guys! And you go back home and leave me alone." Piper put on an amazing smile and poured so much Charm speak into her words that I felt like I should get up and go straight home and leave Piper alone. Unsurprisingly, the Tree Nymph went right back into her tree.
The second she was out of sight, we all started cracking up because of Piper getting yelled at by a Tree Nymph. Piper crossed her arms over her chest, sat down on the ground next to Jason, and pouted.
"I don't think we should continue this game break... We don't want to wake up anymore angry inhabiters living in this area." Jason looked at Piper when he said the last part. Piper slapped his arm and he mouthed "Ow". Jason rubbed his arm with a sad pouty face in Piper's direction. That got a smile out of Piper at least.
I laughed a little because Piper and Jason were so cute together. Aphrodite, Piper's godly parent, must be pretty proud of Piper.
"But we were just starting the game!" Leo and Percy complained.
"Oh well. Another time when were NOT trying to save the world I suppose?" I say.
"Fine." Leo says disappointed.
None of us talked much again for another few miles until we came across a river.
"Come on guys. I'll help you guys across, but first I need to be on the other side first." Percy offered.
"Wait Percy! There are no rivers in this part of California! It's a trap! No STOP!" Annabeth tries to stop him, but when he touched the water he acted like he was in a trance.
My demigod senses started acting up the farther Percy stepped into the water. The hairs on the back of my neck stood on end.
"Get him out of the water! Now HURRY!" I scream.
No one acted fast enough. I flew into the air then swooped down and grabbed hold of Percy. He flailed, but quickly came to senses.
"Clover! What are you doing?!" He freaked out as we flew higher and higher.
"I'm trying to get you as far away from that river as possible. You went into a trance when you touched it. Until we figure out something I am putting you into a high tree." I explain. I drop him into the tallest tree I could see. "Hold on!" I urge. He glared at me.
When I was back to the others, I told them what I did with Percy. We all wondered how to get rid of the river or cross without touching it.
"How about Clover and I fly each person across the river one by one just like Clover did with Percy." Jason figured out. Well DUH! Why didn't I think of that!
"Ok. I'll go back and get Percy. I'll help you with Tyson and Mrs. O'Leary. Start with Piper and Annabeth in the meantime." With that, I summoned the winds to push me off the ground. It only took a few seconds to find Percy.
"Gods! It took you long enough! I am not exactly a fan of hanging high up in a tree!" Percy yelled.
"Fine next time I'll leave you on the top of a Mountain. Suit yourself." He rolled his eyes at me and I dragged Percy out of the tree and onto the other side of the river where Piper and Annabeth were already gathered.
Frank chose his own way across by turning into a giant eagle. He brought Tyson and Hazel over with him. Well that helps a lot.
I grab Leo to fly him over. I scared him to death when I lost my grip on him and he slipped. Thank the gods that I caught him a foot before he hit the water. When I dropped him on the other side, he fell right on his face. Oops. I helped him up and brushed the dirt off his clothes.
"Sorry. Thought you were ready to drop." I apologize.
"Ah it's ok. Would've happened eventually anyway. Better sooner then later. Am I right?" Leo stated.
"Yeah sure." I smiled and flew back to help Jason with Mrs. O'Leary.
"I told Mrs. O'Leary to Jump as far and high as possible. Wen will be fly next to her to get her to go father. It should work because the river is only about 20 feet across." Jason explained when I landed next to him.
"Ok great. That should definitely work because I am pretty sure hellhounds can already jump really far." I sum up.
"Ok ready?" I nod. "Ok. On three. ONE... TWO... THREE!" We ran forward up to the river bank, but just before we hit the river, Mrs. O'Leary jumped ten feet in the air and 15 feet out. Jason and I only had to push her 5 more feet but we had to move fast. The weight of the hellhound was falling fast. I closed my eyes and strained myself to fly faster. I looked over to see Jason doing the same thing.
Five feet to water... Four feet... Three... Two... One... Then, at the wort possible moment, I blacked out.
