Percy Jackson Fan-Fic: The Different One

Chapter 9: Too Many Snakes...

I am soooo sorry I haven't been able to update sooner I have been forgetting a lot... Well here ya go...

I see giant snakes - CORRECTION - giant snake heads, that were all connected to a giant dinosaur-like body. They swerved down into the top of the train.

"HYDRA!" Percy screamed.

For some reason, the citizens (or mortals) were all applauding. What were they seeing?

"Beautiful sun visor!" I hear a random person yell over the clapping. Well that answered my question. I guess they didn't see the.... hydra? I remember hearing about them in social studies.... What was it? A multi-headed greek thing? Whatever. Oh and I think it my book said something about it spitting poison? Or was it fire? All I know, is that I did not want to stick around long enough to find out.

"I've fought these before! Just don't cut off a head! For every head cut off, TWO more grow back! We need to figure out a way to do this! Annabeth?" he looks to Annabeth for some help. She mumbles something that I could make out as wanting a 'Day Laptop'? I wasn't sure.

"I'll figure something out! Just cover me! I think I have something in my pack that might help!" she shouts to the others.

"I'll clear out the mortals!" Jason said. He walks right up to the mortals who for some reason were taking pictures of the roof. He commands them to leave.

All of a sudden, I see Hazel snap her fingers. Why? I have no idea. Then, I see a window on the top of the train, and it is cracked.

"We are repairing the roof of the train! Please go into another cart until the train continues moving!" Hazel shouts. The group of people quickly file out of the cart. Leo is quick to seal off the door with.... welders? No! His HANDS were ablaze! He sealed all exits, so know one would be able to get in.

"I got it! Anyone got any greek fire on hand?" Annabeth asks hopefully, putting away a giant book into her bag.

"Got any other ideas on hand?" Percy asks, attempting to distract the hydra.

"Well..... We CAN use it's fire breath against it. Percy every time it starts to breath fire, dump water on it. And Leo, burn it from the inside by keeping the fire inside of it! The others, stab anywhere that is not a head. We do NOT need more that the six heads it already has!" Annabeth sums up.

I was so confused to be in a real fight for the first time. I brought out my blade from Leo. Then in my other hand, I brought out my ring that turns into a shield, sword, spear, helmet, blah, blah, blah. I did my first idea. What hurts a lot and is super irritating? Stepping on something sharp! I went right for the monsters gigantic.... paws? Feet? I don't know. When I sent my blade right through the top of it's foot, the hydra howled in pain.

I hadn't thought threw my plan thoroughly. After the cry of pain, it stomped it's foot up and down furiously. I was thrown high in the air. I panicked for a second, but I remembered my flying lessons with Jason. I relaxed myself, and I stopped mid-fall. Everyone else liked my plan. I saw them empaling the things feet with their swords and spears. He howled in pain, again, and fell over. It started glowing red in it's throat. All of a sudden, the hydra exploded in a blast of heat. Golden dust showered down on us. I flew down from where I was. "Nice job in your first REAL fight, Clover." Piper congratulated me.

"Thanks." I say, kind of blushing.

"Hey Hazel? Nico? Can you shadow travel now? That would be way safer." Frank asks.

"Yeah. I think we can." Hazel says. "Everyone grab hands. Nico I will stand on this side, and you on the other. No one let go."

I grabbed Leo and Nico's hands, which for one, Nico's hand was creepily cold. Once we were all connected, we stepped into a shadow, and we all vanished into a cool breeze.
