The Exiled Princess (sequel to Esther)

Chapter 24

We won. Yay! I run around looking for him. Altri is with Amia. Sophia, Isis and Jenia are together too. Ashley found Brandon. Where's Andrew? And then I see him. Lying on the road, blood rushing from his chest. I scream.

I open my eyes and sit up. Andrew'd NOT dead, Esther. Just a dream. I look around. No one is in sight. I'm still on the ruins of the fortress. I thought we won. I stand up. The dragons are still fighting. Why? I fly above them and see why. I didn't kill everyone. The monsters have emerged from under ground. The general and his buddies who drank that potion are still hulk smashing everywhere. I can't believe it.

I look around and see our soldiers help fight the monsters and the hulk-ish people.

Guess we're not yet done. Sophia flies towards me. She hugs me. "Esther. You did it. You killed the enemy soldiers." She says gripping my shoulders. I give a small smile. "But the fight isn't over." I say. "No. It's not. But we're not expecting you to be out there. You used up a lot of energy today." She says. "I need to." I say firmly as we fly into battle. We change into humans as we touch the ground.

I look for the general. I see him. I run towards him and command fire to cage him in. I suffocate him with water and pierce my spear into his chest. He roars in pain. Two figures jump up on him and drive long swords into his head. He falls.

The two figures approach me as we take up our weapons. I stop in shock. As do they. We stare at each other for a long time. "Esther?" The woman asks. They're both wearing casual pants, shirts, torn jackets, and combat boots. "Mom! Dad!" I cry out as we hug. "I can't believe I finally find you after a these years." I say. My mom and I cry it out while my dad squeezes us.

We hear more roars and smashing and we run. Sophia follows. She catches up to me. "Congrats." She says with a smile. I smile back. I finally have my parents back. I see two "buddies" and I engulf them with water. I use wind as chains to hold them. My parents shoot their spears through the two chests and Sophia then throws the swords. The two fall.

We finished off the hulk buddies. I like that title. We run to where the dragons are. We gape at the monsters and dragons. There are 50 monsters and hundreds of dragons. I don't know how we're supposed to help. I fly up and count 60 dead dragons. I sure hope we win this.

My parents, Sophia and I run to help Isis. We use our technique, and we bring the monster down with the help of the dragons. We do the same thing to each monster we come across.

Dusk has arrived. We have 10 monsters left and only about 200 dragons. Amia and I share a look. We fly high then observe. My parents help Sophia and Isis pull down another dragon. Nine more to go. "Happy to have them back?" Amia asks with a smile. "Definitely." I reply.

But then, a nightmare comes. A monster flies into the air and my parents, Sophia, Isis and Jenia bring it down. Before it dies, the monster shoves its long claw through my mom. She screams then becomes silent.

Amia looks at me. Tears rush down my face. "No. No!" I yell. "Wait, Esther. A little longer." Amia coaxes. I control my anger. Now they're fighting another monster. Altri and the boys along with Ashley have taken down two monsters with the help of dragons already. Our group of friends has now gathered and had formed a circle. The dragons fly above them. A smaller monster breaks into the circle. My dad burns it and it dies. I assume that the monster eyeing my dad is its mother.

The mother runs towards Andrew since Andrew's in front of my dad. The monster raises its claw. Andrew'd still fighting another monster. Oh, no. My dad rushes in front of him and brings his sword into the chest of the monster just as the claw comes down. Both fall under the dead monster. Everyone stops fighting. The monsters lick their lips. "No!" I scream. Amia doesn't hold me back. I release my full self onto the monsters. I have changed into a dragon and I'm leaping on each monster bringing death to their eyes. I soar up and scream. My powers rushing into all the monsters making them dies in agony.

I land on the ground. I run to where Andrew and my dad are. I raise the monster up and fling it aside. I change into human. The sight horrifies me. My dad's chest is all covered in blood. Andrew lies unconscious. He's not dead. He can't be. He has a long scratch across his chest and a scar on his face. I run around until I see my mom. Her chest has been opened too. I cry. It's all I can do. Cry.
