“Yeah…”
“I’m fine…” I said.
The image of Iza flashes back.
Her shallow breaths, like she’s having a hard time breathing. The glassy eyes, the trembling lips.
She turned away as a tear trickled slowly down her cheek.
Ria smiled then hugged me tightly.
“Thank you for making this the most memorable dance of my life.” She whispered.
It actually took me a while to realize what she was talking about.
“Of course…” I mumbled. “I promised you, didn’t I?”
I immediately went outside and tried to find Iza.
I know, it was crazy….But I just can’t let her off just like that.
Luis…what have you done?
I sat on a tree, tired after searching.
Stupid! What was I thinking?!
I said I was going to do something crazy, not stupid!
Memories rushed and replayed in my head.
All the times where Iza had been so good to me, where she always smiled at every joke I made. Every moment, every laugh, every line she said. And each, sends a stabs of pain somewhere in my chest.
You look so cute when you sleep. Ow.
You know what, I have a crush on you. Ow.
Am I your crush? ...Hey, cool! Look at that, there’s an incoming typhoon in the country. Hahaha. Ow.
Yep. Sure! Just promise to be faithful and honest to me. Ow.
And the list goes on…
Come on, Luis, you know yourself that you never had the chance with her in the first place.
But wouldn’t that give you the upper hand?
Please…Iza deserves better than me. And there are a LOT of guys more perfect for her.
But YOU’RE the one that Iza wants!
<*Vibrate*>
Luis, where are you…I’m getting worried. :( -Ria
I smiled.
Besides, I’ve got Ria already. I stood up.
What about Iza? What will happen to her?
I stood up.
Other from the fact that I just realized that I was talking to myself, I walked back towards the auditorium.
What will happen to her?
I don’t know.
“Where were you?!” Ria asked, angry. “I was so worried about you!” Then she pouted.
I tried to bite back my laugh. But I can’t really stand her expression. She really looks cute when she’s like this.
“And you even have the nerve to laugh?!” She exclaimed incredulously.
I chuckled, then pinched her cheeks. Then I kissed her forhead.
She reddened immediately. I laughed.
She punched my arm. Then tried to put on a serious face, though ultimately failing.
“Ugh, I can’t believe I said yes.” She mumbled.
I chuckled, then stooped down to carry her.
“Yeah, I know.” I said. “So, I guess, I’d better make the best of it, right?”
Then I carried her all the way outside the school, all the while Ria was complaining to put her down.
Hm. It’s obvious though that she was enjoying it.
“Thanks.” She said walking up to their porch. “I was serious about you making this my most memorable dance of my life.”
I tucked her hair behind her ear, then held her close.
“Anything for you…” I whispered.
Then she bit her lip, again.
“Good night…” She whipered.
I smiled, raised my finger and let it slowly travel on her lips.
I leaned over and---
“You have to earn it.” Ria said, smirking.
“Wha-?”
She stuck her tongue out.
I sighed. “Fine.” I smiled. “Good night.”
Then walked away.
“I will earn that kiss!”
Do you really think that you did the right thing?
“I’m talking to myself again…great.”
Yeah, I did the right thing. I’m happy, am I not?
Funny…you don’t seem so sure.
I ignored the last thing and continued walking home.
