“I can’t find Iza.” Vanessa said, as she returned.
MC followed and shook his head. None.
Napoleon came last. “I’m sorry, Luis.”
My shoulders slumped.
Great, just when I professed my love for her in front of many people, she chooses her ex.
Stupid. F*cking. Love. Triangles.
“Well, what now?” MC asked. “Me and my band are still here, Luis…You want another gig?”
I sighed.
I looked at them.
Vanessa and Napoleon, the dynamic duo. They’ve been with me from the start. And they never left my side. Every plan, no matter how crazy, they’re willing to partake.
MC. We weren’t even that close at first. But he was a really nice guy under that rockstar getup. He and his band are always more than willing to volunteer every plans.
I owe him a lot.
I sighed deeply.
“What date is it today?” I asked.
Napoleon gave me the correct date.
Good, I thought.
“Last gig. Final.” I said. “If this doesn’t work…” I smiled sadly, “Then, I thank you guys, for being the best friends I ever had.”
“Luis, you have to continue to fight for her.” Vanessa said.
“I am…and it will be my last. I have to let her go if she really feels that way.”
I looked at MC.
“Last gig.” I said to him. “An unforgettable one.”
