Chapter 15

A little boy opened the door that I assumed was his brother.

"Hi is Jake home?"

"Yeah, he's in the back yard. You want me to show you?" he asked smiling.

"Yup, thanks. I'm Rose by the way." Smiling at him, he looked like a little Jake except for the colour of his eyes, which were hazel.

"Yeah I know, I'm Simon." He smiled back with a spark I his eyes.

"How did you know?"

"Jake talks a lot about you."

"Really."

"Yup, like every day."

His house was a lot like mine, not the layout but the decorations and the furniture, I guess it has to do with the small Romanian town thing.

When we got to the back yard which looked a lot like mine Jakob was nowhere to be seen.

"He's down by the river."

"Thanks." I said smiling and moving forward.

The back yard had a little trail in the middle that lead down to the river with vegetable plants on both sides. Both sides of the grown sloped down and the river was seated right at the bottom of it. Couple feet before the ground sloped downward there were couple of fruit trees that had very tasty looking fruits on them. I paid no more attention to them and kept walking until I got to the top of where the ground sloped and noticed Jakob lying on a blanket with his arm over his eyes wearing nothing but shorts. Seeing him like this was so unfair and it did not help with my continuing being angry with him but after all the unanswered phone calls and text messages and what I jut found out from Andrea there was no chance in hell that I would let go of all my anger.

"Hey." I said not asking him questions right away because I didn't want to be that girl that accuses without listening to what the other person has to say first and with the questions I had in mind well lets just say the weren't very questioning.

"Hey, I didn't expect to see you here." He said getting up and gathering me in a bear hug.

"Yeah, put me down" when he hesitated I said with annoyance "Now!" gosh I hate bear hugs even from him sometimes and right now it was one of those times.

"What happened tonight?" I asked looking into his eyes for a second before he looked away.

"Lets sit." He said and pulled me down beside him.

"Raymond the guy that attacked you in the forest, challenged me for the positing of alpha and I had to accept." He said looking at me with sad but determined eyes.

"No, you didn't have to!" I said forgetting about the missed phone calls and everything else.

"Yes I did, I cant let him be alpha just because I'm too scared to fight."

"I never assumed you were scared to fight but you could get seriously hurt." My temper was starting to rise.

"Or I could get killed." He said under his breath looking at our hands.

"What!?" I almost shriek, I let go of his hand and jumped up. My temper was at that lever where you want to punch people and break things.

"What do you mean get killed? Is this some kind of a joke because I don't find it funny!" I was yelling at this point and I could almost bet that my face was getting red.
