Destined for you (Book 3)

Chapter 5

Tia POV:

The weekend came around fast I had already moved my bed and dresser into my house I just needed to buy Cory a bed and dresser of his own. Everything else was set up except the furniture which I needed to buy and I needed a T.V.  Kaleo and I met at Yamada Furniture. The first thing that I wanted was a table and chairs. We walked into the store and started to look, I saw a round table with two chairs on either side of it. I walked around the store a little more and saw a T.V. and a T.V. stand I paid for those and Kaleo took them to my car putting the T.V. in my back seat and the T.V. stand in the back of his truck too.

"Alright we can head back to my house and set this up" Kaleo nodded and jumped in his truck, I got in my car and headed home. When Kaleo and I got to my place we carried the table into the house and started to set it up, we brought the chairs in right after. We set up the T.V. and the T.V stand right after. It took about and hour or two until we finally finished.

Before we went back to the store I went to see on of my friends who owns a moving truck, I asked him if we could borrow it that way Kaleo's not shoving everything in the back of his truck. I told Kaleo that he could leave his truck at his house and drive the moving truck. I offered him a ride back to my friends so that he could get the moving truck and I'll drive my car since I wanted to put some decorations in the house or just pillows on the couch. We went back to the store where I brought a platform bed for Cory's room, a dresser, two lamps for the living room and a couch. I paid for them and went back to target to buy some pillows.

It took us another few hours to set up everything again and by the time we were finished we were tired and beat. Kaleo returned the moving truck to my friend and I dropped him off at his house. I thanked him and let him leave. I went back home and felt happy how everything was set up. I didn't think I would get it done so fast in one day I thought it would've taken the whole weekend to finish up. 

I walked into the bathroom and went to take a shower. I was starting to feel how sore my arms were from yesterday and from lifting the furniture. I let the warm water run down my sore muscles and soothe them. A few minutes later I got out of the shower and went to my room, I changed into a hoodie and some shorts. I set up the cable and added Netflix on the T.V. I went onto Netflix and started to look for a T.V. show to watch, I decided to watch Hawai'i Five O. 

While watching my phone started to ring, I picked it up and answered, "Hello?"

"Tia?"

"Cory? What's wrong?"

"Can you come pick me up? I'm kinda stuck"

"Ok, where are you?"

"I'm by the community pool"

"What are you doing there? You know what don't answer that I'll be there shortly. Which pool are you at?"

"Kawamoto's. It's fucking cold and it's raining and I didn't bring my jacket"

"Alright, I'll be there shortly"  I got off the phone with Cory and grabbed my car keys. I got in my car and drove to Kawamoto's. When I got there it was pouring and I rolled my window down, I saw Cory running to my car all soaked and wet. He jumped in the car and rolled his window up.

"Do you have any towels?"

"There should be some in the back seat" I replied. Cory reached behind him and looked for a towel until he found one and started to dry off.

"What the hell were doing there?" I asked him

"My friends wanted to go pool hopping and I told them no, I thought we were going to get something to eat but instead they were at the pool. I told them I was good so they left me at Kawamoto and went somewhere else" 

"Why do you hang around them? Cory you're a dad and they make stupid choices. I know I sound like mom but we both want what's best for you"

"I know" he said. The rest of the ride was silent. I wasn't having him stay with me tonight. I drove to Mom's house and dropped him off. 

"Be sure to tell Mom cause I'm sure she was wondering where you were, unless you told her you were going with your friends"

"No I told her"

"Alright. I'll see you later" I said

"Ok, bye Tia. Good Night"

"Night Cory" I rolled my window up and went home.

I got home a few minutes later and checked the time. I didn't realize that it was 12 in the morning. I dropped my keys on the table and went in my room. I didn't realize how tired I was either, I pulled back the covers and climbed into bed.
