Destined for you (Book 3)

Chapter 7

Tia POV:

After Kaleo left I sat down on the couch across from Kayla, "So do you live with Kaleo?" I asked to break the awkward silence. She looked at me, "I would stay with him over the weekends. I stay with my Mom on weekdays" she replied I nodded and cleared my throat.

"Did you like staying with Kaleo? If you don't mind me asking"

"I guess, it would help me get away from my problems at home. Kaleo's always been there for me growing up right after our Dad passed away" she said

"I'm a complete and total stranger to you, yet you answered my questions, why?" I asked her

"Because I trust you, you have a motherly look that you show and you look like the type of person who listens,  who understands, is caring, and kind to others" 

"Thanks but, you trust a stranger" I said with a raised brow she sat there in silence with nothing to say.

"You mentioned that your Dad passed away?" I asked her cautiously I didn't want to trigger anything. She looked at me and nodded.

"I can relate too" I said, she broke eye contact and looked down at the floor. I took a small but short breath and slowly let it out, "My Dad was a martial arts instructor, he would train my brother and I all the time growing up and then he passed away, I took on my Dad's teachings and now I train with my brother and teach kids at the gym"

"How did your Dad die?" Kayla asked still looking at the floor

"He died in a car accident with his friends. They were out partying celebrating something and my Dad wasn't too drunk but one of his friends was and the one that was drunk decided to drive. They crashed into another car and killed the other driver as well. My Dads friend that was in the back seat called for help and tried to get out of the car. He checked to see if my Dad and his friend were ok"

"I'm sorry, my Dad was murdered. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time" Kayla said she sniffled a little and continued, "I miss him so much. I don't admit a lot but I hate the way that I am now and I hate how I treat Kaleo, he shows that he cares and I don't appreciate all the little things that he does for me" she was crying now I gave her a soft look and went over to her, "Kayla maybe you should show him how much you appreciate it, instead of making his life harder. He's brother and he shows you that he loves you and wants what's best for you. I have a brother who's a  senior in high school and he's a Dad already and he loves his daughter very much sure it's hard but he loves her with everything that he has"

I went to get some tissue and gave it to her, she wiped at her eyes and blew her nose. We talked a little longer and getting to know each other. The door opened and Cory walked in with Casey in his arms, "Hey sis, who's this?"

"Cory this is Kayla, Kaleo's sister, Kayla this is my brother Cory and his daughter Casey" Cory walked over and placed Casey in my arms and smiled at Kayla, "Sis can we stay here for tonight please"

"Sure" I shifted Casey in my arms a little bit and then continued to talk to Kayla, she admired Casey and played with her for a little bit, Cory joined us later and watched. 

"How old is she?" Kayla asked holding onto one of Casey's hands

"She's 4 months"

"She's cute. Can I hold her?"

"Go for it. She goes to anyone" Cory said. As I placed Casey in Kaylas arms. There was a knock on the door, I got up and opened it.

"Hey, how's Kayla?" Kaleo asked

"She's ok" I opened the door wider and let Kaleo in. Kayla handed Casey to Cory and stood up. She walked up to Kaleo and hugged him with tears streaming down her face, Kaleo returned the hug and started to rub her back, "I'm sorry" she sobbed. Kaleo shushed her and told her it was ok. Casey started to cry breaking the sweet moment that happened, Cory smiled sheepishly and took Casey into his room. 

They turned to me, I gave Kayla tissues again and Kaleo silently thanked me again I cleared my throat, "You ok now Kayla"

She nodded, "Yes, thank you"

"No problem"

Kaleo and I looked at each other for a few minutes, Kayla broke the silence, "Kaleo I'm staying with you tonight" he looked at her and nodded.

"We should get going" he told Kayla nodded then walked up to me, she hugged me and thanked me again I hugged her back and told her that I'm here for her if she needs someone to talk to. She told Kaleo that she was going to wait in the car and left us in the house. Kaleo looked at me and pulled me to him embracing me, I hugged him back and we just held each other, "Thank you"

"Anytime"

"Are you busy tomorrow?"

"No, why?" I pulled away slightly to look at him he looked down at me, "Wanna grab dinner with me tomorrow night?"

I smiled and shook my head, "I'd love to"

"Great" he leaned down to kiss me when I heard someone clear their throat I turned and saw Cory standing there looking at us with a smirk on his face. I got out of Kaleo's embrace and looked at Cory who smiled at me. I glared at him while walking Kaleo to the front door, he stood outside and looked down at me.

Kaleo cupped my face and kissed me. I kissed back and placed my hands on his waist. He broke the kiss and took a step back, "I'll see you tomorrow" then he walked to his car.

"Night drive safely" I called out

"Night" was all I got back as a reply and watched them drive away. I went back in the house and went in my room. I grabbed some clothes and went into the bathroom to take a shower. I came out of the bathroom wearing a sweats and a hoodie. I locked the door and turned the lights off, I was too tired to eat anything for dinner. I knocked on Cory's door told him good night and went back to my room to go to bed.
