Chapter 8

Kaleo POV:

I planned to take Tia to dinner tonight, the events from last night kept coming back to me. Kayla's slowly changing the way she's acts I don't know what Tia said to her but I'm glad that they got to talk last night. I got out of bed and went in the bathroom to take a shower. I turned the water on and removed my clothes from last night, I looked at myself in the mirror, my muscles got a bit bigger than what they used to be, I got in the shower and went under the hot water letting it run down my body. I got out a few minutes later with a towel wrapped around my waist as I walked back into my room I pulled out a pair of boxers, jeans, and a tank top. I changed and made my way to the kitchen I started breakfast and coffee. Kayla walked out of her room putting her hair up in a bun, she grabbed her plate off the counter and sat down at the table, "Thank you"

"No problem" we ate in silence for a little while until Kayla broke it and said, "I think she's the one"

"Who?" I asked mid chew

"Tia, I think she's the one" Kayla said with a smirk on her face

"What are you talking about?" I asked after I chewed and swallowed my food

"Kaleo, you stopped dating after that one girl. I saw the way you were with Tia last night, she makes you smile, I honestly think that she's the one" she said with confidence. Kayla was right after I was used by my ex I didn't want to date anymore I stopped dating. I was afraid that I would get hurt but Tia, she's different she makes me happy, I can be myself around her, I'm comfortable around her. Even thoug I've known her for a few weeks and not once did we go on a date to get to know each other, yeah we would hang out and stuff but we were never alone.

"Well we're going to dinner tonight" I said and Kayla smirked. She stood up and took her plate to the sink, "Where are you thinking of taking her?"

"Not sure yet" I said. I brought my plate the sink and started to wash the dishes but Kayla stopped me.

"I got it" she said

I checked my phone and saw a missed call from Tia. I unlocked my phone and called her back, she answered on the third ring, "Hello?" she asked with a dry and raspy voice

"Tia? Are you ok?" I asked her concerned, I heard coughing on the other end.

"Kaleo I'm so sorry"

"About what?"

"Our date, I have cancel I got sick last night"

"Hey, don't worry about it" I said I heard her groan and cough again. Instead of going on a date I'll surprise her and bring her somethings to help her get better. 

"Tia get some rest ok and about our date don't worry about it"

"Thanks Kaleo" she hung up and I put my phone down, I went back in the kitchen and decided to make Portuguese bean soup for Tia. Kayla walked in the kitchen and made some popcorn, while she waited she was looking at me I turned and looked at her, "You're making Portuguese bean soup" she said

"Yeah, I'm making it for Tia"

"How come?"

"She's sick and she cancelled on our date so I'm making her something to make up for it" 

"That's sweet of you" Kayla said. She took her popcorn out of the microwave and went to the living room. 

A few hours later the soup was done and I was getting ready to go to Tias, "Kayla you gonna be ok?"

"Yeah I'll be fine. Is it alright if Jaz comes over?"

"Yeah as long as it's just her and no one else" I called back

"Ok thank you" I shook my head with a smile on my face. I got the soup and carefully placed it in my car. I went back in the house Kayla was sitting in the living room, "By the way there's money on the table for you to order pizza I'll be back"

"Alright, tell Tia I said Hi and that she gets better. See you when you get home" I closed and locked the door behind me then went to Tias house.

When I got there I knocked on the door and Cory opened it, "Hey man what are you doing here?"

"I brought something for your sister. How is she?"

"Not good, you came just in time too my mom should be here soon too so come on in" I walked in and placed the soup on the stove. I walked to Tias room and knocked on the door I heard a faint come in I opened the door and walked in her room, "Kaleo? What are you doing here?" Tia tried to sit up in bed but I rushed over and gently helped her lie back down, "Whoa take it easy. I came to take care of you" she coughed and smiled, "Thank you but you didn't have to do that"

"No I wanted to. Are you hungry?" I asked and checked her temperature she was burning up

"A little" I nodded and told her I'd be back. I went in the kitchen and made her a bowl of soup and a cup of water. I walked back to her room and placed the cup of water and soup on her nightstand before helping her sit up so she could eat. I placed the bowl on her lap and let her eat.

"You can stay in Cory's room tonight if you want" she said while eating

"No I'll sleep in the living room" she nodded her head and finished eating. I took the bowl from her and handed her the water, "Do you have any medicine?" I asked before I left her room. 

"No I didn't get the chance to buy any" she replied and drank her water, I took her cup too and then left the room. 

"I'll be back" I said. I took one of her house keys and went to the store.

I came back a few minutes later and made her medicine. I handed the little cup to her and had a cup of water ready so she could chase the medicine down and get the taste out of her mouth. She took the medicine and I handed her the water. She laid down and threw the covers over her, "Kaleo thank you so much and again I'm sorry about our date"

"It's ok, rest for now." she nodded her head and fell asleep, I smiled and leaned down placing a kiss on her forehead. We have other times to plan another date anyways. I started searching for a blanket and found one in the closet with the towels. I grabbed a blanket and a pillow and placed them on the couch. I locked the doors and turned off the lights. I laid down on the couch and went to sleep as well.
