Today was my big day.

I was wearing a suit that the girls helped pick out for me, and though I politely declined since it was just way too expensive for my wallet to carry, they all bought it for me.

It was a simple but elegant working suit that also came along with nice leather shoes and a jet red tie.

I didn't see why the need for such clothing was so important, but they told me it was extra points in JYP's book.

Standing in front of the door to JYP's office, I began to sweat, despite it being freezing cold out. I was starting to get nervous, worried that I might fail, that I might not be good enough, worried about what TWICE might say about my incompetence.

I did my best to brush it off, I mean, I'm fluent in over 10 languages, and I'm still learning. For a seventeen-year-old, that's pretty impressive, right?

Right.

I pushed myself through the doors and headed for the front desk, confidence on my face.

"Good afternoon!" The receptionist said in English beamed at me. It was probably her first time in a long time to see a foreigner enter the office.

"Good afternoon, um, I have an interview with Mr. Park Jin-young?" I replied in Korean.

Like most people, she was surprised that I could speak Korean well, and we had some small talk before she finally led me to JYP's office.

I didn't see any of TWICE around, so I assumed that they were maybe practicing or something else.

It wasn't long until we found the office, since the building wasn't all that large.

I exhaled heavily as I knocked on the door, soothing my nerves.

I stepped into the office and examined the room. It was full of awards for JYP, along with certificates and photos of the awarding. I was caught staring at them when JYP cleared his throat.

"Ah, good afternoon, Mr. Park Jin-young. Thank you for giving me your time," I said politely and nervously, caught off-guard that I didn't see him in his seat.

He smiled and motioned me to take a seat. "You must be (y/n), yes?"

"Yes, sir," I said, getting comfortable on his leather couch. Wow, it was a nice couch.

"TWICE has told me a lot about you. They practically begged me to interview you. Tzuyu in particular," he chuckled.

Tzuyu?

"So, Nayeon told me that she had already informed you of our need of a competent translator versed in more than just English, Japanese, and Chinese. Can you tell me the languages you are already fluent in, aside from Korean and what I had previously mentioned?"

"Yes, sir. Taiwanese, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Filipino, Hindi, Arabic, Romanian, Icelandic, Swedish, Vietnamese, Thai, Malay, Mongolian, Indonesian, and I've begun learning Polish," I say calmly and confidently.

"Wow," he exhales, clearly impressed. "You're exceptionally young to know that many. Where did you learn all of these? Do you have any certificates to support your claims?"

Ah, crap. I never studied these officially.

"Well, sir, ever since I was young, I was moving from home to home, relative to relative, and the ethnic range of my family was very wide. Learning different languages has always been a hobby to me and I still find it interesting to this day." I replied rather nervously, thinking that I was done for.

"Ah, I see," JYP coughed. "Without a certification, the credibility of your skills are a bit questionable. Luckily, I have a test paper that I give out to interviewees with cases similar to yours."

JYP opened the drawer found by the lower compartment of his desk and pulled out a single printed document with a bundle of blank bond paper, along with a pen.

"Here's a little test for you. I want you to translate this into all the languages that you know, along with a voice recording of each. I'll give you an hour and a half to report back to me."

"Thank you, sir," I said as he got up to shake my hand.

I headed to the lobby and took a seat at the lounge area that conveniently had a coffee table, where I was greeted with a cup of coffee from the receptionist from earlier.

The essay was pretty easy, with only a few difficult words and grammar portions.

I finished it in just an hour, so I decided to walk around the office for a while just to kill some time.

Some walls were covered with the group pictures of different JYP K-pop groups. Miss A, GOT7, TWICE, and more.

I suddenly heard some footsteps that sounded like a few people.

"Hey!"

It was Tzuyu and Chaeyoung, both in casual winter clothing.

"Hi," I smiled.

"So how did the interview go?" Tzuyu asked eagerly, bouncing up and down.

"JYP told me to do a little test, which I'm already done with, and I have around thirty minutes to report back to him."

"Thirty minutes?" Tzuyu tilted her head. "In that case, do you wanna grab a coffee or something?"

"Ahem," Chaeyoung suddenly interrupted. "I gotta go somewhere. Have fun!"

"What's up with her?" I ask Tzuyu.

"I dunno either," she scratched her head.

"Anyway, I'll pay for the coffee."

"What!? No! I'm the one who offered!" She pouts her lips.

She's adorable.

Hm?

"And I'm the guy. So be a good girl and let me pay for you," I grinned.

"Tch. I'm older than you, buddy," she mumbled, almost inaudible to me.

"And keep your head down. We don't want someone snapping a picture of you."

"Yes, dad," she sighed in defeat.
