After Barry finished up his test on the brown substance. Which had turned out to be animal excrement from a farm that had residue of a certain chemical that allowed Barry to narrow it down to 2 different places in the City. Barry left the results on the captain's desk since he was talking with an officer in the other room. After that he grabbed his coat and left the precinct. He headed off towards the West's house dreading the upcoming conversation. As he arrived at the door he took a big breath and mustered up all the courage he had and resisted the urge to just go home. Finally he knocked on the door 3 times. He stuffed his hand into his pockets and waited as he heard footsteps approaching the door. The door opened to reveal Iris standing in the doorway with glass of wine. She rolled her eyes slightly when she saw who it was and took a couple steps away allowing Barry to enter.

"I see you didn't bring your girlfriend." She quipped.

"Kara's not my girlfriend Iris. I just came to talk to you." Barry said.

"So talk" Iris said taking a sip of wine and crossing her arms. Barry just looked at her in disbelief.

"Look, I don't know what you think you walked in on but we are not sleeping together." He started.

"Really because we had a fight and then I came to get my charger to find Kara with messy hair and only your sweater on! Despite what you may think I'm not that dumb I put the pieces together." Iris said finishing the last sip of her wine.

"Iris she means nothing to me, she's just a friend." Barry said.

"Barry I've seen you two together even when she had someone, it was special. Now I'm sure that you guys aren't just friends, clearly. So stop with the bullshit." Iris said, venom in her voice.

"Kara is one of my best friends but that is all we are." Barry said.

"I know that's a lie." Iris replied.

"I'm not lying Iris. I swear. I chose you. Kara and I are just friends, we didn't sleep together. I promise." Barry said praying she'd believe it.

"Fine, I believe you."  Iris asked. She did love Barry and wanted to forgive him. She hugged him and took a breath. "So what hotel is she staying at?" She asked.

"Oh, ummm... see the thing is, well..." Barry said as he nervously rubbed the back of his neck.

"She's IS at a hotel right Barry? You didn't have her stay at the house?" Iris asked, raising an eyebrow. She felt her anger boiling up inside of her.

"Well.." Barry tried.

"Bartholomew Henry Allen answer the damn question!" Iris demanded her patience dying quickly.

"Look, Iris, the good hotel down town was booked! She didn't have anywhere to go!" Barry tried to reason.

"Oh my gosh! Are you kidding me right now?! What the HELL Barry?! What?! Was the one on the east end too far away!?" Iris yelled running her hand through her hair in disbelief.

"Iris you know that one isn't as nice, I didn't want to make her stay there." Barry explained.

"She is SUPERGIRL! She'd be fine there! I can't believe it! So you're telling me that you let her stay at the house with you over night, alone, and you want me to trust you after what I saw?!" Iris yelled at him.

"Because I'm your fiance! Because you know me! Because you agreed to spend your life with me! How are we meant to do that if you can't trust me?" Barry asked, fearing her answer.

"Get out." Iris whispered.

"What?"

"I said, Get. Out. This was a bad idea." Iris said louder.

"Iris wait-" Barry said desperately.

"No Barry I can't do this. I want to believe you but I can't." Iris explained as her voice cracked. "When I think of you I just see her with you, instead of me."

"So that's it? Your just giving up? We're engaged you have to come home eventually." Barry said, trying to get through to her.

"No. I won't." Iris said handing him the ring as tears fell down her face.

"Iris-" Barry said choking up.

"I'll get my things later. Just, please, go." Iris begged. Barry just nodded and went forward to kiss her on the forehead before leaving. Iris just turned her head and put her hands out to stop him. Barry stopped before he reached her and just shoved his hands in his pockets walking to the door as Iris watched. Barry opened it and looked back one more time before zooming out into the streets. Iris walked to the door and closed it before sitting back down on the couch. She replayed their conversation in her head and looked down at her, now, bare finger. She looked up and burst into tears realizing that was the end of them her head fell into her hands as she cried.

Barry ran through the streets stopping at the Chinese restaurant tears slowly rolling down his face. He took a moment before walking in. He took a deep breath as he wiped his tear stained cheeks and stopped crying. He opened the door and went in, he ordered his food quickly and he left speeding off back to his house. He replayed the conversation in his head as he rushed through the streets the coolness of the night relaxing him slightly. They wind drying the remainders of the tears that had streaked his face. He felt like he was in a daze, numb from any emotion, he just couldn't believe it was over. 'Why don't I feel more pained?' He wondered as he arrived at his apartment.
