It Happened in a Flash

She eats pizza

They took off down the hall laughing and just enjoying each other's company.

"So where do you want to go for lunch?" Barry asked.

"How about pizza?" Kara suggested. Barry thought for a moment before replying.

"You know there's a great pizza place like five minutes from here. You wanna go there?" He asked her, Kara smiled brightly and nodded. He smiled at her, just happy to be around her.

"I'm sorry that things kinda suck on your earth" Barry said to her as they approached the pizza place. "but I'm really glad you're here." He added with a smile.

Kara moved closer holding his arm as a small family left the restaurant with a stroller. She looked up, her eyes meeting his "Me too" she said. They walked up to the counter and waited in line. Kara absent mindedly leaned her head on Barry's arm while they waited not bothering to let go.

"Next!" The girl at the register said. Kara and Barry moved up.

"Umm, can we please have two large cheese pizzas two medium Diet Cokes." Barry asked.

"Wow that's a lot of food for just one couple" the cashier laughed. Kara realized she was still holding on to Barry's arm. She let go and they blushed but said nothing. "Alright that will be $14.86." The cashier said. Barry pulled out his wallet but Kara was already handing the girl money. "Wow, it's like dating the Flash isn't it?" The cashier joked as she handed Kara back her change and a paper that said Order 54. Kara laughed at Barry's strained smile at the cashier after her comment. They moved over and chose a small booth to sit at.

"So how does it feel to be with a girl who is so similar to the Flash?" Kara teased as they sat down. Barry rolled his eyes and smiled.

"Fabulous" He said sarcastically, he shook his head chuckling.

Kara smiled, "Well I am pretty great." She said laughing.

"Now there's something we can agree on." Barry said causing her cheeks to turn slightly pink.

"ORDER NUMBER 54" Yelled a guy at the counter before walking back to the kitchen. Barry got up and grabbed it placing Kara's pizza and drink down before going back to grab his own.

"So is this going to be better or worse than Belly Burger?" Kara asked.

"You can't do that Danvers. That's just wrong, burgers vs. pizza is an unfair challenge." Barry replied biting into his slice. Kara laughed and bit into hers as well. "Good?" Barry asked. Kara nodded while unsuccessfully trying to pull the slice of pizza free from the strings of cheese. Finally it broke free and she quickly ate it up as Barry watched in amusement.

"What?" She asked looking at him suspiciously.

Barry raised his hands in defense "I didn't say anything." He laughed and bit into another slice of pizza. He looked at her watching as her hair moved with her and her eyes seemed to be lit up. 'Wow she's really pretty.' He thought to himself.

"Barry?" Kara asked snapping him out of his thoughts. "Is something wrong?" He blushed profusely trying to think of what to say. "Do I have pizza on my face or something?" Kara asked wiping her mouth with her napkin.

Barry shook his head, trying to get his voice back which seemed to be broken. 'I wonder if that's a thing' He wondered. He took a sip of his drink as Kara looked at him confused. "This is going to sound extremely stupid but, uh, you're just, really beautiful..." He said ending in a whisper as his face turned redder, he scratched the back of his neck nervously looking down at the table. Kara looked slightly taken a back. "Don't take that the wrong way." Barry added shyly. As his words sunk in Kara suddenly became shy herself.

"Thanks, um, I don't think there is a wrong way to take that though." She said tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear.

"I just, uh didn't want you to think I was trying to, like, um, hit on you or anything." Barry explained. 'Kill me, kill me now.' He thought. The silence between them lingered. Finally Barry spoke up again, "So how's Winn?" He asked.

"He's good, though he's probably going crazy looking for me." Kara replied thinking of Winn unnecessarily worrying.

"Wait did you tell people that you were going to come to my earth?" Barry asked, realizing that he hadn't thought about the people on Kara's earth since she had arrived.

"Kind of?" Kara looked at Barry who just looked at her confused. "Well," she explained,"I mentioned that I was completely fine and that I just needed to escape for a while. We've only been dealing with minor things so they'll be okay without me for now."

"Why didn't you tell them where you were going?" Barry questioned.

"Because I know they'd come get me, or join me if I did and I kinda wanted to just be here alone."

"Well as long as they know you're safe I guess that's ok." Barry allowed.

"Glad I could get the Barry Allen stamp of approval." Kara teased. Barry rolled his eyes and laughed.

He looked down at his watch, "Hey it's getting kind of late, if you want to go anywhere else we should get going."

"M'kay" Kara agreed, they grabbed their trash and headed towards the exit. "Hey, Barry today the labs Wally really didn't take it well that I was there. Does everyone think I'm the reason you and Iris broke up?" Kara asked him as they threw their trash out. They headed towards the door to leave. She waited for his response watching his facial expression for any indication to his answer. Kara wasn't looking where she was going and suddenly she slipped on the tile floor knocking over the the wet floor sign and gaining the attention of everyone in the restaurant. She instantly turned bright red looking up to see a worried and slightly shocked Barry. Way to go Kara. She thought as she looked around to see everyone staring. She looked back at Barry who held out his hand. She bashfully accepted it, desperate to move on and get off the floor. She stood of and stood the sign up still holding Barry's hand.

He pulled her closer slightly so that his face was buried in her hair next to her ear keeping his gaze up, "You ok?" he asked quietly she nodded his breath warm against her neck.

"Just embarrassed" she replied smiling. He chuckled and let her go forward as they walked to the door. "Don't worry about it." Barry said opening the door for her allowing her to go first. With that they walked out of the restaurant and started down the sidewalk.

Hey guys sorry this is so late! It's past midnight where I am so by technicality I didn't stick to my 1 post a week deal but I am half-way done with next week's already so that one will be on time. Whoo! Anyway I hope you enjoyed this (sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes they annoy me too but sometimes I miss them). I know I haven't put in any enemies for them yet, I plan to put in some from the shows but for now I kinda want to explore Kara and Barry's normal life.
