Area X Gentleman's Club

Calum

the room is dark, a loud, vibrating bass of some shitty rap song playing throughout. calum heads over to the bar, looking to take the edge off of today's festivities.

"whiskey, please."
the bartender scurries back over, a glass of swirling brown liquid in his hand. calum puts down at $20 and heads off to his usual chair.

while calum has no trouble whatsoever getting girls, he prefers to watch the shows on the nights he isn't partying. when he's in town he likes to stop by the X, whether it's to see new acts or to catch up with 'friends'.

he relaxes into his front row chair, and sets his drink on the side table as the lights go down. out walks brandi, in her tight gray bustier with thigh high boots. she struts to her pole, winking at all the excited young men, who clearly have never been to a show. she passes calum and blows a kiss, a reminder of the many nights they've shared- in a "friendly way, of course."

brandi finishes her act, and three more women, all who calum knows well, run through their acts, which to calum are the same as tv reruns. as the lights go dim, probably in preparation for the next act, out walks the club owner, cindi.

"tonight gentlemen, we have a real treat. now, you've seen some gorgeous, sexy women out here, and now, we bring you our newest to the pole, sage."

calum, halfway through his third drink, looks up with interest. he's seen many acts who've come from other places, but never anyone new to the business. this, he thought, would surely be a treat.

a slow, melodic love song starts playing, just as the room goes dark. one golden spotlight flashes onto the pole, as one shines down on the far end on the walkway.

the curtain slowly rolls up, and out walks a teeny little brunette, in nothing but a light pink bustier and strappy gold heels. she walks over to the pole, lacking the usual confidence the other girls exert.

as the song starts to speed up, she grabs the pole and climbs to the top, sliding down in a dramatic way, spinning with one leg in the air.

ten minutes later, after completing her show, cindi walks out and announces a break between shows for some alone time with the ladies.

calum sits with his phone in his lap, regarding a few texts and notifications he recieved for a few minutes, finishes his drink, and satisfied with the night's entertainment, starts to rise out of his seat to pay off his tab, when he is delicately pushed back into his seat.

"sorry baby, but you shouldn't get up just yet."

sage

sage loved all the girls at the club, but sometimes their 'hazing' was a little much. she'd been there for two months already, and once or twice a week, she would get little tasks to show that she was there for them. knowing they all went through them too, as she'd heard the stories, it was easy to understand where they're coming from.

"hey girls, cal's back in town!" jade, whose real name was melissa, yelled out as she came running into our dressing room from backstage. immediately, all the girls started chattering about some guy named cal.

"cal's our favorite regular," angel, (andie) leaned over to tell sage as she changed into her dancing outfit. "he's some famous guy in a band, and whenever he's home from traveling, he comes and visits." she said, with a small smile on her face.

a few minutes later, when the clock hit 11:30, they all headed out backstage, where they waited for cindi to announce that they were now available.

all of a sudden, kitty, one of the girls who's been at the X for a few years, pipes up. "sage hasn't been introduced to calum yet. why doesn't she go and get to know him for herself?" she smiled at sage in a devious way, obviously knowing the other girls would chime in.

five minutes later, the girls all head out onto the floor, looking at men and even a few women, lonely, drunk, or away from their families. suddenly, jade comes up behind sage and subtly points out calum. sage rolled her eyes at jade, and quietly strut over to him, seeing him look as if he's about to get up.

as sage walked in front of him, he slowly starts to stand, and like it was instinctual, she pushed him back down and used her 'night voice' that the girls had taught sage.

"sorry baby, but you shouldn't get up just yet." she said, as he looks up and meets her eyes, and then runs his eyes down her body and back up.

slowly, sage grabs his wrist and gently place it back on the arm of the chair. she turns around, and quietly starts dancing to the music playing throughout the club. every minute or so, she changes dance moves or positions, and gets deeper into each of them when calum says anything, or makes a ...noise.

despite being a stripper, sage was one of the most timid people on earth. she hates talking to people on the phone, she has trouble placing orders at restaurants, and when anyone sage was dancing on says something, she immediately gets flushed, which is not ideal. nevertheless, neither cindi nor the girls seem to think there's anything wrong with it, as it's part of sages 'appeal'.

fifteen minutes of calum groaning later, sage slowly slides out of the position she was in, and turns around to wink at calum as she walks away. immediately, he grabs her wrist and pulls his lips to her ear, "thank you, baby", he whispers, and sage walks backstage, slightly confused but happy with how the dance went. she turns around, and spots him as he walks out of the club for the night.
