Chapter 62 - The real truth

"Surrender!!!!"

I heard police voice. I runs into the house using back door. There's no police there. It was dark as I left the house just now. Then, I heard a sound from behind. I feel something at my back. Gun. I put my hands up.

"I warned you. Do not called police."

He showed himself. 

"There's no need you do this. The police is here."

"I already told you. Do not show your feeling and what you did? Report to police? You really do think I will give up here, Kang Hyekyo?"

"Mmmmm!"

Mom's voice. I turns back. She was taped on the sofa.

"Let her go. It's the matter between you and me."

"No. No, Hyekyo-ah. I would I release her when I knew you loved her? It must be hurt to see you loved one hurt, right? Like you true mother. I killed her. Now, what make you think I cannot kill you Mom here? Because she was my wife?"

He laughed like psycho.

"Kim Miyoon once my wife and I killed her. As well as her."

He points the gun at Mom's head. 

Suddenly. police break the door. He pulled me near him. 

"Freeze!!"

"Don't come here or I kill her!!!"

I bites his hand. He screams. I take the chance to take the gun from his hand and kick it away. The police push him down the floor. I help Mom to get out from there. 

"Wait! What about your father?"

"Mom!"

"We must help him. I must help him."

"Mom! Get yourself out. He wants to kill you and you want help him? Shut that nonsense and let's go."

"No."

She said and pushed the police who bring him out from the house. 

"No! Don't touch my husband!!"

"Madam! Please get away. Do not help the criminal", the police said and pushed Mom away.

Mom keep defend him and I see a smirked on his face.

A second, I thought I saw a gun. But, no way. I already kick the gun away. No....

Then, a shot was heard. He hold the gun. 

"Don't come here or I kill this woman!"

The crowd was shout. The situation was hectic. Think, think, think, Kang Hyekyo...Think...

He keep point the gun to crowd while bring Mom together. I must save her but how...

When my mind still thinking, suddenly, my head feel hurt and dizzy. I can't see properly. It's blur. I shaking my head. It's hurt. I fell down.

"Miss, are you okay?"

I heard a voice but can't see the face. It's blur. 

Bang!!

A shot was heard. I look in front of me. I see someone is falling. A woman. I can't tell who is it but it's hurt to look at her. No.... it can't be her..

"Get him!!!"

"Let me go!!!!"

The crowd voice make my heard more spinning. I see blood. She was bleeding. The snow was turned to red because of her blood. I indents to her as my head hurt too much. Suddenly, someone pulled me away and brought me away from the scene. I can't struggle.

When I open my eyes, I was in the unknown building. I shakes my head and flip my hair that cover my face.

"Already wake up?"

A voice that make my heart beating quickly. I turns to the back. He was sitting on the chair while wipe his gun.

"I thought you already die. I was worried. I'm not satisfied if you die like that."

I didn't answered him. My head is still spinning but not as hard as before. 

"Your head is hurting because you imagine by your past, right? Yah, want me tell you what is really happened back 14 years ago?"

I look at him.

"You really want to know? Then, let me tell you."

"14 years ago, what you heard from anybody is wrong. They didn't know the truth or maybe they lied like you mother."

"As what you knew, I was married Kim Miyoon when she was release from his father. His father said he will gave me his everything after we gave him a grandchild. His power, his legacy including BaekSang. I trust him so I married his daughter. Then, she got pregnant and you and your brother was born. I thought finally I got what I want. But that old man betrayed me. He gave his whole to my friend, Han Jaesil. He, from the day I know him until now, is still annoying. He think he was clever and can get everything."

"He gave everything to Han Jaesil. I asked Han Jaesil to gave me BaekSang but you know what he told me? 'I can't give it to you since President asked me to protect it. I'm sorry', he said that. You know what funny here? He acted like he was the most kind person ever yet he was the most cruel person. Form high school he already acted like that."

"So, you killed him?"

"Yes! I killed Han Jaesil. The lucky side me. He hold his son birthday party and wanted to announced his heir. That time, I can't go there but Kim Miyoon was there. She ran away from me when I wanted to kill her. Yeah, why would I kept her but she was no use at all? But she was unlucky. She died in fire."

"That you did?"

He silent. I looks at him. Then, he smirked. 

"Let me tell you something. The fire is not because of me."

"What?"

"It's because of......you."
