Chapter 35 - Stupid reason

Baekhyun

My lips can't say anything. My mind can't think anything. My body's froze in shocked. Everything Ajumma said just now just doesn't make any sense. I know he always cold and cruel to me even he is my father but what ajumma said.....I just can't believe it. Yes, maybe she just mistook my father with someone else. He never.... killed anyone.

"Baekhyun-ah, are you okay?", Chanyeol asked me make me realized where I am.

My eyes trembling and I almost see nothing. The shocked hunted me so far inside my heart. I looks at Geumsik ajumma. I can't just trust someone I just know yesterday and now she said something untrustworthy, at least not to me.

"A-are y-you sure he is my father, ajumma?"

She look at me and after a while, she nodded.

"Ani, my father, he never killed anyone. He maybe cold and cruel, yes, he's also like that to me but he'd never killed anyone. He's not like that", I said. My voice trembling and the words I just said actually I didn't even know if that true.

"I know you can't believe this but this is the truth. I feel bad as I said it but I can't lie to just because you're his son. Your father killed Hyekyo's grandfather after her mother's death. He desperately want the property. After 3 years, he got married with your mother. Your mother didn't know about this until now. He lied to you and your mother. That's why he asked you to stalked Hyekyo but he didn't said she was the girl you should stalked."

As soon ajumma said, I surprised. How she knew that my father asked me to stalked someone.....

As she saw my blured face, she said,

"I told you, I stalked Hyekyo to know how's she doing. From that, I know everything about her. Where she'd go, who's her friend, with who she go out even her friends' life. That's when I knew about you. I knew that your father to stalked someone many times but you still refused to do that. You doesn't want to obey your father."

I can't say anything. Her information and her knowledge about Hyekyo really something. She even knew about me. Suddenly, I think something. Something that I want to ask my father long time ago. Maybe she can tell me.

"Uh, ajumma said that you knew everything about me, right? I want to ask you something. If that so, do you know why my father always told me to do that? He knew I would refused his order, but why he would do the same thing many times? For everything, he always told his secretary do what he want but why, for this case, he want me to do that? Do you know why?"

She looks awry to said.

"Just told me the truth, I want, no, I must know this so that I can trust everything you just said everything about my father", I begged Geumsik ajumma to told me.

She sighed.

"Okay but after this, don't blame me everything. He.....your father, he knew you liked Hyekyo."

As she said that, I surprised. My father knew? But how?

"How'd he knew?"

"Like you just said, he told his secretary to find out everything you do at school and who you friend with and who you like."

"But, what's related with everything he told Baekhyun do?", Chanyeol asked after silent a while.

"Because he knew you likes Hyekyo, he told you to stalked her. Because he want you to know on your own who Hyekyo is. Because he doesn't want Hyekyo to take the property which is Hyekyo is the heir of them. Because he want you to keep away from her. Because he doesn't want to lost everything!!"

Ajumma finished with her word with loud voice. Her face was red showed how she really mad and hate my father. Because of my father, her best friend died and her entire life was......destroyed.

"I..I can go out, can I?", I said after the everyone silent.

I stand up and walk out from the kitchen. When I walk on the hallway, I see Hyekyo with her back leaned against kitchen's wall and crossed her arm. She look at me with those cold eyes. I'm froze. I know she must heard everything. Everything from the start to the end. She must really hate me. Really hate me who's the son to the man who killed her parents and grandfather. The man who took away her right. The man who separated her with her brother who still missing.

I break our eyes together and walk away out from the house. When I passing her, I want to say how I'm sorry about my father's crime but any words doesn't come out from my lips. I'm still in shocked about everything moreover Hyekyo who lost her right because of my father. I just walk away to calm me down.

After Baekhyun went out, I sigh. I can't think much in this situation. I pity Baekyun. He doesn't know anything. From the day he was born, he didn't even get his father's attention and his love. Everything like a mistake. He was born is a mistakes, he was raised is a mistake and he likes Hyekyo is mistake. Everything to him just like nightmare without a sleep.

Nightmare....I suddenly occur Hyekyo. How she'd manage to handle all of this, how she'd survived from this nightmare. Got hit because of stupid reason, got kidnapped because of the stupid reason, almost being killed because of the stupid reason, . All of the stupid reason are the property. Just because to keep the property, someone turned into a cold, no feelings, like a robot, like a live corpse person. She's like a puppet to everyone like she doesn't had a feeling.

"I'm sorry about your friend", Geumsik ajumma suddenly broke the silents.

"No, it's not your fault, after all", said Jooyoung seonsengnim.

"I'm sure she had through a lot before and now the fact her parent was dead, is she can handle these?", I said.

"She just like a puppet, keep through on something not her doing. She keep being punished for someone else crime. She's being hit, being hate, being a puppet, being a robot. She doesn't told anyone about how and what she felt because of the fear and trauma. She just can't trust anyone. Not after what she through. Both Miyoon and Hyekyo", said ajumma with very low voice showed how much she pity and poor both the mother and daughter.
