Dragons

You made your way to the enclosure where the first task was to be held, the stands where the students and professors were going to be watching formed a circle around a stony arena. From what you could tell there seemed to be plenty of places for the champions to hide, the creature the champions were to face was chained inside the enclosure. Guarding four golden eggs was a blueish grey dragon. "That's a Swedish Short-Snout, are they all going to be trying to get passed the same dragon?" Jasmine asked as she looked around. After all the students were in the stands and everything was ready to begin a cannon sounded. Cedric was the first person to face the dragon and successfully get a hold of his golden egg. You watched as Cedric pulled out his wand and pointed it at a rock, to your surprise you watched as the rock turned into a dog. Once the dragon was busy with the dog he ran to the egg and snatched it up, unfortunately for him the dragon lost interest in the dog and turned breathing fire onto Cedric. After Cedric was out of the enclosure the next dragon was brought in this dragon you knew as a Welsh Green, Fleur Delacour was the next champion to enter. You watched as Fleur placed a charm on her dragon causing the creature to fall into a sleepy state, as Fleur started moving closer to her dragon and the golden egg the dragon snored causing a jet of flames to shoot out. Fleur's skirt caught on fire which she quickly put out with her wand. The next champion was Viktor Krum and the dragon was a scarlet Chinese Fireball, you wondered if Krum would try and use a broomstick. Instead Krum did a spell which was shot straight into the dragon's eye, you didn't even notice there were more real dragon eggs until they cracked under the dragon, which made Krum lose a few points.

Finally after Krum gained his egg it was time for Harry, Lilly smiled seeing the black scaled, lizard-like dragon. You could clearly see the yellow eyes with vertical pupils like a cats. All down the dragons back was bronze horns, similarly coloured spikes protruded from its long tail. "It's a Hungarian Horntail, but it's one of the most aggressive and vicious breeds especially when they are protecting their young." Lilly stopped talking as she stared down at the creature. "Harry is going to have a lot of trouble with this dragon." She finished just as a the cannon sounded, turning your full attention back to the enclosure you watched as Harry slowly emerged.

You watched as Harry started to walk towards the golden egg only to quickly dive away as the Horntail swung it's tail towards Harry before blowing fire towards him, you realized that most people in the crowd who had been tormenting him weren't throwing insults towards Harry or cheering for the dragon, yet. As Harry tried to get as far from the dangerous creature as possible it swung it's tail down on him again narrowly missing the boy. "There are plenty of different breeds of dragon, why did they get the most dangerous one?" Jasmine said quietly to you and Lilly. "Oh come on Jasmine, the dragon handlers are most likely watching. They'll intervene if anything gets too out of hand." You agreed with Lilly, you could hear Hermione yelling to Harry about using his wand. You listened closely to hear the spell that Harry was going to use. "Accio Firebolt!" Thinking you looked at Lilly. "Hey Lilly how fast can Horntail's fly?" Your friend looked at you curious. "Erm, I think I read that they are exceptional fliers. Why?" You watched the dragon flap around after Harry the chain keeping it from flying higher than the stands. "Can they fly faster than Harry's Firebolt?" You asked just as the broomstick came soaring through the air, looking back towards where Harry was you watched as he hid behind a large rock just as the Horntail blow more fire, Harry's broomstick had good timing as the minute the dragon stopped Harry was able to jump onto his broomstick and take off. "I think Horntail's can keep up with that broomstick. But I think there is a bigger issue." Lilly pointed at the dragon as it flew up into the air chasing Harry, you watched as the dragon broke the chain. "Horntail's diets are mainly cattle, sheep, goats and whenever the can... Humans." Lilly said as the Horntail gave chase to Harry. You watched the dragon until it disappeared into the distance.

In the distance there was a loud roar after what seemed like hours where people were assuming Harry's demise, looking up you tried to see if it was the dragon that victorious or if Harry was the one to come back. Finally you could see Harry flying back causing the crowd to erupt with cheers as Harry swooped up the egg, you couldn't help but join in with the crowd as they clapped. You left with Lilly and Jasmine heading back up the castle, the twins were talking about who they believed should be scored highest out of the four champions. "Well Harry has got to at least be second, I mean he had the most dangerous dragon out of the four of them. Not only that but his dragon snapped the chain." Jasmine said to her twin, Lilly nodded. "Yeah but Karkaroff would probably give Krum ten and all the other's would have low scores. Not only that but Karkaroff was a death eater, he probably despises Harry." You had to agree with Lilly's assumption of the score Karkaroff would give everyone else but Krum. You followed your two friends into the Slytherin common room where they continued chatting merrily, sitting on the opposite couch as them you silently listened in until you felt too tired to even attempt staying up later.
