In the loud great hall Lilly, Jasmine and yourself sat down at the Slytherin house table and began eating the lunch provided. Looking down the table your eyes landed on a girl you hadn't seen before. The girl had brown hair that ombred at the bottom with a light blonde, her eyes were a stunning teal. Lilly waves over at the girl causing her to head over. "Guys this is Jennifer." In turn Lilly pointed at Jasmine than you in order to introduce everyone. "Well since we are introducing new friends." Jasmine stood up and walked over to the Gryffindor table before going to the Ravenclaw table before emerging with two students, a female from Ravenclaw who you knew as Sapphire Snape and a boy you didn't know.

"This is Sapphire Snape and this is Larry Lovegood." Lilly gave a snorted laugh hearing the last name, with a smile you elbowed the white haired female who quickly reposed herself. "Anyway. This is {Y/N} Riddle, my twin sister Jasmine and um, Jennifer?" Larry stared at you a little longer than you and apparently Draco like. "What are you looking at? Loony." Draco called from the other side of the table while Sapphire turned her face stifling a laugh. Larry rolling his eyes began walking as it was time for class.

Lilly, Jasmine and yourself headed up the marble staircase behind Larry, you were heading to divination. Divination was possibly the most boring class you had, History coming in at a close second. Entering the classroom you and your friends took a seat and quietly whispered to each other barely listening to Professor Trelawney, the professor seemed to be on a long rant about how she had been 'following your fortunes most carefully over the holidays'. Her instructions for the class were almost as boring as her speech, you opened your copy of The Dream Oracle and began to read the entirely too long. The second part of her instructions was to use the book to interpret each others dreams.

When you finished the introduction there was only roughly ten minutes left, Next to you Lilly had fallen asleep her head laying on her open book and Jasmine had already finished and paired up with another girl. Rolling your eyes you rested your head on your hand staring out the window for the remainder of the class. When the bell went, you slammed your book closed close to Lilly's ear causing to jump up and send you a glare. "You interrupted a good dream {Y/N}!" You smiled and shrugged as you gathered your things and began heading out. "Well, I just thought you wouldn't want to miss Defense Against the Dark Arts, Lilly." You could pretty much feel the glare Lilly was sending you.

Lilly caught up with you and Jasmine outside of the classroom. Lilly, as well as everyone else, quietly entered the classroom and took a seat. No one was sure how strict of a teacher she would be. "Well, good afternoon!" The toad like professor said once everyone was seated, a few of the students responded with a meek 'Good Afternoon' which didn't seem to impress the professor. "Tut, tut. That won't do, now, will it? I should like you to, please, to reply 'Good afternoon, Professor Umbridge'. One more time, please. Good afternoon, class!" Rolling your eyes you joined the class as they followed Professor Umbridge's demand. "There now, that wasn't so difficult, was it? Wands away and quills out, please." You frowned down at your wand before placing it into your pocket preparing for a boring lesson.

Professor Umbridge pulled out her weirdly short wand and tapped the blackboard 'Defense Against the Dark Arts A Return to Basic Principles'. "Well now, your teaching in this subject has been rather disrupted and fragmented, hasn't it? The constant changing of teachers, may of whom do not seem to have followed ministry approved curriculum, has unfortunately resulted in your being far below the standard we would expect to see in your O.W.L. year." The classroom remained in a gloomy silence. "You will be pleased to know, however, that these problems are now to be rectified. We will be following a carefully structured, theory centered, ministry approved course of defensive magic this year. Copy down the following please." Professor Umbridge tapped the board again and the first message disappeared only to be followed by the course aims, you began copying down the writing.
