Basilisk

You groaned as you were roughly shook, your eyes slowly opened wanting to keep the last minutes of your blissful sleep. "Wake up, {Y/N}! It's Jasmine, she's not here!" You're eyes immediately snapped open as you looked at a worried Lilly, the expression of fear and worry was never present on Lilly's face this caused you to worry. Getting off you she put on her robe and threw yours at you which you quickly pulled on. "Lilly, what's going on?" Lilly grabbed your arm and the two of you quickly ran out of the Slytherin dungeon. "I am worried Jasmine got petrified, I don't even know why she left the dormitory." Lilly kept running until we got to the girls bathroom, Lilly looked at you before entering. You peaked into the bathroom and to your relief you didn't see Jasmine.

Lilly exited the bathroom, she took a deep breath as she looked at you. "Let's go back, if Jasmine isn't back their by morning... That's when we worry." Worried you followed Lilly back down to the dungeons, you stopped at the wall leading to the dungeon as Lilly looked around, you couldn't tell if she was angry now just completely worried. "Pure-Blood." You said clearly making the wall open and reveal the passageway in. You waited for Lilly to enter before you followed behind, you took one last glance out into the lantern light hallway before entering the Slytherin common room. There sitting on one of the sofa's was Jasmine, who looked frightened. "Jasmine! God, I'm going to murder you!" Lilly started stomping towards her twin, you quickly grabbed Lilly's arm shaking your head. "Lilly, I think Jasmine might be alright terrified." Snapping out of her rage Lilly ran over to her twin sitting next to her which you quickly copied.

"I think I saw what was petrifying everyone. I swear I saw a Basilisk in the girls bathroom, I was going to talk to Moaning Myrtle." You and Lilly shared a look before comforting the red haired girl. "Listen it didn't petrify you, just don't leave the common room without us anymore." You and Lilly managed to get Jasmine back into bed, after she was asleep you allowed yourself to once again close your eyes and try to get just a little more sleep.

Next morning

Jasmine, Lilly and you were at the Quidditch field having showed up to watch the game between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. Suddenly Harley came over to you looking a bit pale. "The game has been postponed. Guys, Hermione got petrified." Usually if something bad happened to the trio your group of friends would find it mildly funny, however, this whole petrified students turning up had taken the joy out of that. Lilly looked at you before you both looked at Jasmine, after telling Harley to look after herself, Jasmine, Lilly and yourself headed back to the Slytherin dungeon with the rest of your house. Surprisingly Snape entered as well and demanded the attention of all the students.

"New rules have been placed, they will take affect immediately." You watched him unroll a parchment which clearly had the new rules written on it. "All students will return to their house common rooms by six o'clock." You heard a few annoyed murmurs for the others. "All students will be escorted by a teacher to every class. There will be no exceptions." After finishing Professor Snape turned and left, the twins and yourself immediately looked at each other. "Jasmine, where exactly was the basilisk?" You looked at Lilly who's eyes were filled with determination, while Jasmine immediately shook her head already knowing what her twin was plotting. "No, Lilly. It's suicidal! We can't take on a Basilisk." She whispered the last part while you were too preoccupied with watching a giant squid swim past the window.

"{Y/N} back me up here, if we go and kill the Basilisk we won't have to wait until it comes after one of us." You crossed your arms as you looked at Lilly with an apologetic look on your face. "It's too risky, Lilly. We could die, besides I don't think it'll come after us. I mean it didn't bother attacking Jasmine when she ran away." Looking completely annoyed Lilly got up rolling her eyes. "If you really want to stay and act like it won't come after us then fine." You and Jasmine let out a sigh at the same time as you watched the enraged Silver haired girl walk towards the dormitories.
