I put Marcus' phone back on his nightstand and got off the bed. I needed to talk to Molly. I figured I'd let her show me how to make some bomb coffee this morning while she explained more wolf stuff to me.

I trotted down the stairs almost slipping when my socks hit the hardwood floors.

I went towards the kitchen were Molly was already making breakfast. At the table to the left there were many large men and fit looking women.

Walking through the dining room I noticed as eyes were looking at me up and down making me and my wolf anxious. I was way smaller than them but I felt that they should respect me. I looked at each of their eyes, as each one looked away.

It felt nice to be respected. On the inside I was strong, but I wanted to be strong on the outside too.

I sat at the island and Molly smiled up at me.

"What're you making?" I asked.

"Homemade biscuits and gravy." She said.

"It smells delicious." I said.

"Yes it'll taste better once these dang biscuits are done." She laughed.

One of the large men from the table came and sat next to me. He smelt like sweat and too much toothpaste.

"So your Marcus' little lamb?" He said smirking at me.

"Little lamb?" I raised a brow.

"Yeah. It's like seeing a wolf carry around a little lamb before he kills it. You know? A little game of cat an mouse kind of thing?" He laughed.

"I'm his mate." I narrowed his eyes at him.

"Wait." His whole cool guy demeanor dropped into total shock, "Marcus didn't mention he had a mate. Holy shit. Your Mia's sister too? The kidnapped one? Holy shit!"

He turned to look at the rest of the people sitting at the table. I was nearly 5 seconds from punching this guy in the face. Molly brought them their plates of food but the guy still wouldn't leave me alone.

"Leave me alone." I snapped.

"Shit. Sorry. It's just we all heard stories but we didn't know if they're true or not." He said putting a hand on my shoulder.

"Get your fucking hand off her Lax." Marcus' deep voice boomed through the room.

He jumped as he took it off me and backed away. I thanked the heavens for Marcus intervening. I didn't feel like talking about all the shit going on in my drama filled life. What happened was over and I no longer wanted to spend time thinking about it and instead I wanted to make myself better. Better for myself, better for Marcus, and better as his Luna.

The front door bell rang. Molly scurried away to open it. The guy got off the chair and went back to his seat.

"Enough talking about Kay and everything that's happened. You're here to stand guard and that's it. Don't go anywhere near her until I mark her. That's an order!" He yelled as they showed their neck in submission.

I found myself wanting to do the same before he wrapped his arms around my torso. He felt the fabric of his T-shirt under my sweatshirt and I could tell what he was about to say next.

"I wanted it. It smelt like you and I like the smell of you." I smiled rolling my eyes.

"I like it on you." He said putting his face into my neck. "You know.. it's getting harder to stop myself or my wolf from marking you right here right now."

"I'm almost ready for it." I smiled. "I like being close to you but I'm just not sure about being marked. I have no idea what's gonna happen."

"It'll be great. I promise." He said kissing my forehead. "From now on, all my used shirts are yours. As long as they aren't too dirty."

"So.. What is this I heard about pups?" I said.

"Pups? What do you mean." He said.

I stared to feel his anxiousness. I felt bad for snooping through his phone but honestly I feel like he shouldn't hide anything from me. I can handle it.

"Have you started bleeding yet?" He asked rubbing my shoulders.

"No. Why?" I said as I turned to face him.

"No reason. In wolf terms it means you could be pregnant." He mumbled as he walked to the side of me.

"What do you mean I could be pregnant?" I raised my voice a little and stood up.

Pregnant with pups? Hell no. I can't. I'm not ready for that.

"We went through your heat without a condom Kay. It's just a common thing that will happen." He said.

"Why are you acting so calm!?" I yelled.

"Hey hey take it easy, I'm just saying that if it's meant to happen it'll happen." He said.

"Yeah and who cares if I'm ready or not right?" I yelled.

The front door opened. Marcus sniffed the air before running his hand through his hair.

"Mia's here. You'll be able to start working out and learn more wolf stuff with her." He groaned.

"This conversation is not over." I huffed.

A few wolves at the table behind us were whispering so I turned around and snarled making them shut up instantly. They finished eating and left leaving me and Marcus in the kitchen and dining room area.

Marcus tried to hold in his laugh which made me frustrated with him more.

The she wolf who I met in the woods came into the dining room. She was wearing bright pink workout shorts along with a matching pink sports bra.

"Marcus! Hey it's been so long! Dang. You're huge! Royal Alpha training kicked your ass huh?" She laughed hugging Marcus.

I narrowed my eyes at her affection towards him.

"Oh shit. Sorry." She said as she looked at me. "He's your mate. I forgot. And oh my goddess!! You're my sister!"

She was very loud. Much louder than when she found me in the woods. She  hugged me and squeezed me really tight.

"I'm so sorry. I'm usually really chill. But I'm nervous, I mean I've heard about you my whole life but I didn't really know who you were and I always hoped that we'd find you!" She said hugging me still.

"Mia. I was hoping you could be Kay's mentor. Show her how to fight. How to be a wolf." Marcus said.

I glared at him in which he just smiled back at me while getting a glass of water.

"Also explain to her all the lady business of being a wolf.. you know." He said before drinking a glass of water.

"Explain how I could be having pups." I spit out.

Marcus nearly choked on the water at my blank statement.

"Oh." Mia said blushing. "Well.. I mean wow Marcus was that fast?"

"No no her heat came on the night we found her so.. you know.. I wasn't really prepared for .. you know." He whispered. "Can you guys talk about this somewhere else?"

I laughed at his sudden embarrassment.

"I have shit to do. Like questioning your old dad, your old friend, and trying to get to the bottom of who the fuck took you." Marcus said storming off.

"Alphas." Mia rolled her eyes smiling.
