They couldn't. They wouldn't. It can't be true at all. I refuse to belive it. Marcus is just thinking of some way to get back at Corey for doing the things he did to me and wants to have someone to take his anger out on. Right?

"That's bullshit Marcus." I said.

"Let me get to the bottom of it okay?" He said.

"Marcus.. is that everything you've been hiding?" I asked.

"Yes." Marcus said. "No more secrets."

"Okay." I said.

We talked about the plans for finding the missing pack members and when I'd be going to train and be a stronger wolf. We decided that we should bring everyone into the same room and talk about things.

We'd have a meeting. A long needed meeting. Marcus had become the new Royal Alpha and had never formally met the pack with his new rank.

He said there might be challenges, and might even jump start the war. Maybe that's why he's waited so long to put it off. What are challenges?

"Kay?" Marcus said pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Do you know what tonight is?" He asked.

For a minute I freaked out and went through everything that today could possibly be, it couldn't be his birthday he was born at the end of May and it's not any anniversary so..

"No?" I raised a brow.

"Tonight's the winter Silver moon." He smiled.

"What happens during a silver moon?" I asked.

"Our wolves take over the whole night. We can't fight it no matter what." He said.

~Marcus P.O.V.~

I ran my fingers through her soft red hair.

"This means our wolves will for sure complete the bond." I said.

My wolf was already anxious to mark our mate. Having the pack meeting would have me more on edge. I'll have to show no remorse and kill any challenges. I don't want kay in the same room as me when I kill them, she'll hate me but it's what my father did and I have to show them that I'm just as strong as he was.

"Marcus?" Kay's voice brought me out of my thoughts.

"Yes love?" I asked.

It was getting dark and I could tell that we had spent our whole day talking. Surprisingly I didn't mind it.

"What happens when someone challenges you?" She asked.

I sighed, "A challenge is when another wolf wants your rank, so they fight you and if they win they get my rank and I'm dead."

She took in a sharp breath.

"I won't lose. I never do." I said running my fingers through her soft red hair.

"Are wolves able to challenge me?" She asked.

"No. You're not part of the pack yet." I said.

Kay yawned and I yawned after her. She nuzzled her head into me more and  I was purring in delight.

"I wanna be stronger. I wanna fight when all hell breaks loose." She said quietly, almost a whisper.

I kissed her head and pulled her close. I wanted to fall asleep with Kay in my arms and never let her leave my side.

I looked down at her as I noticed she had fallen sleep. I stared at her sleeping face and imagined what our future held for us. 5 pups, all boys except one girl. That girl would look just like Kay mixed with my mom and all the boys would look like my dad and Kay's Dad, Alpha Denis. We'd rule over the packs, kay would keep peace and joy in the lands and there would be no more corruption.

This meeting with the packs would be my make-it or break-it point. I needed to start my hardcore training for the next few weeks before it.

I hadn't told Kay yet, but she's going with Mia and Molly to a small cabin I built near the training site nearby. All of my warriors have the task of training my Mate, their Luna. I'll be visiting her and taking care of Alpha duties here as well.

——————-

I tossed and turned all night. The fact that there were pack members of mine out there, alone and scared, and no hero alpha searching for them yet made me restless.

Kay moved in her sleep and slowly opened her eyes.

"Why are you beating yourself up Marcus?" She whispered and closed her eyes.

"Because I should be searching for them, if it were you, I'd have the whole kingdom looking under every rock and in every pothole. I just don't know what to do." I said.

"Have the packs send out search parties. I think we both know who has them. Make a public statement." Kay said.

She was right. I could make every alpha swear under oath to take the very worst punishment if they were caught kidnapping other wolves. They'd have no choice but to confess on where the She wolves are. Death by silver is the worst pain imaginable.

As a kid, I once touched a piece of silver in my father's room and I couldn't use my right hand for weeks. I would pretend to use it in front of my parents but then I'd go to bed and cry at the pain. The only one who helped me was Molly, she had brought me a type of tea to help the pain go away. In a way, molly was like a second mom to me.

I looked back down at Kay who had fallen asleep again, as if it were only the moon subconsciously talking to me through Kay to let me know what to do.

I smiled at the thought and closed my eyes so I could sleep as well.
